It's so beautiful here! The room was super cozy and very well taken care of. I had a horrible experience at a Wyndham in Florida where there was hair and grime clogging the tub from the last people, and the lobby attendant just looked at me like I was stupid for bringing it up. I ended up DoorDashing cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself!..So I made sure to leave a well-deserved tip for housekeeping here to show appreciation of her time, thoughtfulness, and cleanliness. Thank you!!

20231015 Feedback from my other friend who got the Oktoberfest... he said that he tasted flat and it wasn't good. I wonder if it's because the beer was running out when it was filling the can. I noticed it was filling the can very slowly and I asked if it's running out, and the guy said yes.

20230906 Drove by on my way to Bald Knob Cross of Peace and didn't to swing by to see if they sell canned beer! Amazing!! They can beer right there!!! Just need to pick any draft beer. 32 oz can starts at $10. I got the Mango Harbernera and Oktoberfest for my coworkers. The General Mgr was very friendly and helpful, unlike some wineries I have been to. Definitely recommend coming by!!

Dallas and the rest of the staff were amazing! The property is absolutely gorgeous! Food was delicious, wines were delicious, ciders were perfect! We love the wine trail and this was our first time at this location. We will definitely be back to try more of their selection of beers!

We stumbled across Von Jakob after doing a few wineries along the trail. We were excited because this place also was a brewery too! WE WISH WE WENT HERE FIRST BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE STATED ALL DAY!! Angie and Eric were absolutely amazing. The place was so clean. They had an amazing sitting room where the wine and beer counters were. The large banquet hall was so nice and the outside area will be so cool when the weather gets better. Of the 4 stops we made, this place had my favorite wines AND the fresh brewed beer was great. This is a great place for people who want a variety, beer and wine. They are prepping to expand and we can’t wait to go back and stay at the bed and breakfast! THIS STOP IS A MUST ON THE WINE TRAIL!!

My husband and I stayed at the Von Jakob B&B for our anniversary. When we checked in we were greeted by the manager Dallas. She got us checked in and gave us our gift basket that included a bottle of wine (of my choosing) We had dinner there (beef brisket sandwich/giant pretzel) both were very good. Dallas showed us over to our room. We stayed in the Red Canyon room, there is a nice view of the pond and a jacuzzi tub in the room. The room/bathroom was very clean. The breakfast selection was good and the food was tasty(it was included with our stay). My only complaint was the coffee was weak. The owners were very helpful sharing information about the area to help us choose what we wanted to do for the day. We toured several other wineries and ate/drank. We returned to Von Jakob for complimentary wine/beer tasting. We also ate dinner (sausage pizza/BLT) the BLT is amazing. We like that they use locally sourced ingredients. We felt that food/wine/beer was the best on the Shawnee Wine Trail. We would definitely stay here again.

Yes, stop. This place has a fantastic view from the back deck. We bought a bottle of Canyon Gold (excellent, light) and a growler of Southern Illinois Pale Ale (you have to like Pale Ale). Both very refreshing. Lunch was the schnitzel - fantastic, came with sides of slaw and potatoes, 6.99. Well worth the value...in fact, everything we had was at a great price.

We got there early afternoon. The inside fills up quickly - so be prepared to wait in line. The customer service was excellent at the wine tasting bar. We ordered our food, wine, and beer at this bar. Found a place to sit outside, and they brought out our food.

Parking is easy to find and free. Bathrooms were clean.

We have been to Von Jakob numerous times and have always had a great time. This weekend we tried their B&B and had an awesome experience. The staff, Dalice and owners where amazing! They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

We stayed in the Wine Port room for the weekend to celebrate a bunch of things going on in our lives. The staff at Von Jakob made us feel like family. They gave us suggestions for places to visit and told us about the other vineyards on the Wine Trail. We did get a complimentary basket and bottle of wine as well as a complimentary wine tasting for staying at the Bed and Breakfast. The food was the best we had on the trail and so was the wine! Service was exceptional and so friendly. We can’t wait to come back every year for our anniversary.

5 stars is not enough!!! Do not go by the old reviews, the new owners obviously brought new life into this place! Everything about this place is amazing! The food, wine, employees, the bed and breakfast ALL of it phenomenal! The manager, Dalice, went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! She took the time to answer any questions we have and went out of her way to make sure I had decaf coffee! The entire staff made us feel welcome and like family! The breakfast is huge, burgers and pizza were delicious, everything was just perfect! We are already planning our next stay and hopefully bringing friends! Thank you Von Jacobs family for making our first vaca together amazing!

Unexpected stop but wow. Never expected to find a great winery and a great brewery all in one location.
They have appetizers, pizza or sandwiches.
Great variety of both beer and wine. Definitely on my list to visit again.

One of my favorite wineries in the area. I've photographed several weddings at Von Jakob, and we've just celebrated my Grandmother's 90th birthday there...no matter the occasion, large or small, the staff is so nice and ready to accommodate their customers. Great wine and laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I came down to see my family and they said that we should come here and I do not regret coming. We were here last Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff was friendly and our waiter (a bubbly and sweet blonde) really knew her stuff about the the alcohol that was being served to us (which was amazing! I got the brown slushy). I will be coming again next time I go visit my family!

We went to several wineries last weekend and found this one to be the best. Sam was a highlight! She greeted us warmly and gave excellent recommendations. I believe she is new to working there but has a lot of knowledge in addition to her great demeanor. Highly recommend you spend some time here!

Great times and great wines (plus great beer, food, views, staff, facility, etc)! My fiance and I had the pleasure of making a weekend getaway to Southern Ill wine country and it's safe to say, we cannot wait to plan our next trip to Von Jakob in particular. They were the last stop on the tour since we were staying at their Bed & Breakfast, and it turns out we saved the best for last. They easily offer the largest selection of wines (great tasting and great prices), but it just so happens that they brew some pretty darn good brew on top of it. I recommend their Cider to mix things up a bit after a day of wine bingeing.

After finishing our tasting, we grabbed a bottle to crack open on their HUGE patio to soak in the surrounding view and kick back to the live band that was finishing up their set. We ended the night with a 1st Class meal accompanied by top notch service! Needless to say, there is no comparison Von Jakob in all of Southern Ill wine country. Thanks for the good times, great memories, and contributing to our somewhat hazy drive back to KC the next morning!

I have been to Von Jakob a couple of times and each time has been a fun and carefree experience. Taking the train from Chicago to Carbondale began our first trip to the area to check out the SoIL wine country. We were impressed with the number of wineries, each offering quite a few varieties to taste and surroundings to enjoy. Von Jakob held the blue ribbon for their sweeping views, tasty wine, and welcoming atmosphere. We sampled a few items from the menu and each were delish. We stayed at their B&B and found the rooms to be tastefully decorated and very clean and again, surrounded by relaxing views of the neighboring apple orchard.
The second time we visited was for a party and it is an incredible place to host a large event. There is plenty of space to dance the night away and the staff was very attentive.
I know they have worked on their beer, built a new room for more intimate parties and gatherings, and have created an incredible hard cider that I adore.
I look forward to visiting again soon.
PS I highly recommend the cider!

Had a great time for our daughters 21st birthday. Musician playing guitar sang “happy birthday, Bryndle”. Staff was excellent. Wine is remarkable. Absolutely great. We highly recmmmend.

My husband & I enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner here tonight. It was a 3 course meal served with yummy ice cream cake at the end. The food & wine were both delicious!

Absolutely WONDERFUL winery in Souther IL. We make a trip here at least once a year and are never disappointed. The wine is great, there is an excellent beer selection and the Friday night dinner events beat any five star restaurant. The B&B suites are spacious yet cozy - perfect for a night of great sleep after a day of fun. We always recommend this winery to friends and family looking for a fun weekend get-away.

My husband and I always enjoy our visit and Von Jakob is one of our favorite wineries on the Shawnee Hill Wine Trail. Ridge Red and Johnny Apple are delicious, sweet wines.
