What a great place! The cabins are rustic but comfortable, the food is delicious, the staff are all very friendly and enthusiastic about guests catching fish, and the location is fantastic! And the fishing is the best thing of all - salmon, bass, pickerel, brook trout, stream or lake, just a fisherman's dream. My first time there, but definitely not my last! Plenty of hiking trails for my non-fishing wife to enjoy right from the lodge.

What a great stay! The fishing was fantastic, our guides Jon P and Hamilton F were knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining. Garrett, our server kept the drinks flowing. The cabins were incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed nightly fires in the fireplace and cigars on the screened in porch. Loved waking up to coffee and chatting with Jeff the owner, and petting the friendly dogs. I’ll be back for sure.

My brother and I stayed at Weatherby’s for several days on the Housekeeping Plan in the Bonaire Cabin. Couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation, with tons of room, including 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen, large living area, and a great screened in porch where we spent most of our time when we weren’t out fishing. Being mid July, wasn’t too sure about success on Grand Lake Stream, but killed it! We had an amazing time catching Smallies and Land Locked Salmon, which was a first for the both of us. Have to say, both the stay and fishing exceeded expectations and hopefully will make it back, with a few friends, in Spring/Fall when the fishing is really on!?! Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and was definitely way too short!

I went to Weatherby's with no expectations other than to catch up with members of my husband's family (some of whom I hadn't met) and fish. I knew nothing about the place other than that his family loved it there and had been visiting for years- like since the
1960's. After two fantastic days, I can tell you what without a doubt awaits you here: great food, great fish, and if you bring them with you, great family times. So glad I had the honor of being invited to such a tried and true gem!

My Wife and I brought our 15 year old grandson to Weatherby's to spend some quality grandparent time with him and to expose him to fly fishing. It was a success all around, although he ended up preferring the spinning rod. Here is what made it such a success:
1. Comfortable and clean accommodations, 2. great staff, 3. excellent food, 4. Exceptional guides!
It was rustic, but very comfortable. The wood stove was perfect for the cool evenings, and the guides couldn't have been better. The guides were as excited as we were when we caught a small mouth bass--and catch them we did. We fished Big Lake and the St. Croix River. Both were great fishing spots, but the St. Croix River was exceptional for large fish. Our only problem was catching fish small enough (under 12") for the guides to cook for lunch. Speaking of the shore lunch, these guides cooked amazing lunches over a fire--delicious!. If you go, you have to have "guide coffee." Some of the best coffee I have had.
Deryn LaCombe was one of our guides. He was fun and a great teacher. Also guides, Nate and Steve (been guiding since 1971) were excellent. All three has the iconic Grand Lake Canoe--a beautiful wood 20 foot canoe with an outboard. Perfect for fishing Big Lake or the St. Croix River. Deryn showed how the bald eagles follow the guides looking for a chub handout. It was amazing to see them swoop down and pluck the Chub off the surface of the river then fly into the pines.
I have plans to take all 5 of my grandsons in June. This is too good an experience for them to miss.

Epic trip!! Family fishing vacation and Weatherby’s did not disappoint. My two and 3 year old went out with my wife and I. We fished two full days with J.R. And he kept us on the fish and cooked our catch for a grand shore lunch. He kept a bucket full of fish to entertain our boys when fishing got slow. Both boys made it full days. The smallmouth were acrobatic and great for the boys. Staff, Ira and Jeff are awesome!! Highly recommended!

The food was awesome, the hunting/fishing experience was everything that we could hope for, the staff of the lodge were amazing, courteous and attentive, and the cabins are very rustic and fit the setting perfectly. This was our first visit to Weatherby's and we will definitely be back (already booked the trip)!

Classic facility. Tons of charm. Rustic, comfortable accommodations. Access to wonderful fishing in varied, interesting waters. But an unexpected highlight was the amazing, imagininative, delicious food. I’ve been to a few sporting camps, but the quality of the dining at Weatherby’s beats them all. All in all it easily earns my 5 stars.

What a wonderful experience! My newlywed wife and I chose to honeymoon here and, boy, what a treat! From the lobster dinners, great landlocked salmon fishing, to drinking whiskey by the fireside and enjoying the company of the lodge staff, this place has an aura of complete relaxation around it. Thank you Weatherby's, we can't wait to see you again!

A great place for the seasoned fisherman/hunter and a fantastic place to introduce children to a life log passion for the Maine outdoors. Kids stay free in July and August...this includes their meals as well! Rustic and clean cabins, friendly staff, fantastic meals....
