Center City Gym

Great experience at this gym. My friend and I have been going for a few months now and Hunter and Michael have made it a wonderful experience. They do a great job making you comfortable. Hunter is excellent about at showing you how to use equipment and suggestions for workouts whenever he is asked. Hunter gave me and my friend a FANTASTIC leg routine and is all around very charismatic. They truly have made the gym a welcoming experience and even helped us socialize a little more with some other members making it more comfortable to come without one another since we werent use to using gym’s frequently. Now it’s a pleasant feeling knowing we will be greeted with such friendly faces and feeling like we’re apart of the little community that is center city gym.

This is more than a gym, its a place where you feel a sense of family and community. The backbone of this feeling is the man behind the front desk on weekends, Gabe. This guy will go out of his way to make you feel good, and aid in your overall workout. 10/10

I’ve been to many gyms and this one is by far the best. There is enough equipment and free weights at the gym to accomplish many different fitness goals. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Every time I have a question Hunter is eager to give helpful advice. Most importantly everyone treats you like family here. 5 stars!

I absolutely love this gym! Everyone is so nice and helpful! They have everything you need to have a great gym experience! Going to the gym is the highlight of my day because the energy and positivity vibes is always there! Truly one big family 🤗!

Nice gym to drop in to. Friendly people, clean, and good mix of equipment. Lots of traditional cardio machines and plate-loaded machines like you'd find most places, as well as a very good free weight, powerlifting area in the lower level. Will be back.

Great place to workout. Upstairs has treadmills, bikes and machines. The basement hast free wights and is spacious. Day and week passes and cheap.

Excellent gym for the money!!! Great value here. Much better than anytime fitness. Ample room, 2 floors, plenty of machines in relatively good shape. Good variety for young people and older people. Highly highly recommend! Thank you Mark for your establishment

I’ve come to Petosky to visit for many years and began to use the Center City Gym at least ten years ago. It’s a great place. Nice, helpful people. A lot of muscle-group-specific machines for lats, delts, quads, etc., as well as a couple multipurpose decks. Plenty of steppers, ellipticals, bikes, treadmills and an erg for the aerobically-inclined. As noted by others — an extensive free-weight area downstairs and a lot of bench space. The men’s locker room is basic, but clean and well-maintained. There are reasonable daily, weekly and monthly rates for the transients like me. You will like it.

Amazing gym! I’ve lifted at many gyms from Planet Fitness to Powerhouse to small local gyms and Center City is the best.

As someone that takes weightlifting seriously I was truly impressed at their equipment. There’s tons of free weights to the point where you can always get what you need. The machines are all high quality, unlike many gyms that get machines that are damn near useless for anyone trying to put in serious work. They also have ever weird niche piece of equipment I like (cable tricep extension machine, angled dip bars, calf machines). If you’re more into general fitness they have everything you’d ever want as well.

The pricing is more than fair. They don’t hit you with a $60 “initiation fee” or any other rip offs. You can get a month pass for $40, I believe at powerhouse after everything was said and done I dropped $120 for a one month pass after fees.

Basically this place has the equipment and facilities of a large corporate gym but the laid back atmosphere and pricing of a smaller local gym. You can tell the owner has a real passion for what he does.

Also they play good music, my home gym allows members to hook their phones up to the sound system which in a rural area leads to a lot of Nickleback.

Always a great workout at Center City! Wish it was my home gym, but I live almost 2 hours away. Whenever I'm in the Petoskey area I stop in for a day pass though. The owner Mark D is insanely knowledgeable & a joy to talk to. A good mix of equipment and different environments on each floor. One of my favorite gyms.

This gym is Awesome in so many different ways. They offer lots of workout equipment from free weights, weight machines, and a variety of cardio. I was very impressed with the owners Mark and Lisa both offer lots of information and support. The facility is clean with top notch environment to workout in. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere every time I go. I'm so thankful CCG.

The owner/operator/trainer is a great guy that spends much of his day working with and talking to all who come in. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

The gym has great equipment and always in good repair. The gym is always clean. I give it my top rating.

Great place to get fit no matter your condition level. Free weights, ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, stair climbers, to use as you need at your own pace. Showers to use after the workout and two levels (floors) of weights and equipment

This gym is absolutely amazing!!!
The owners care about the people who come through their doors. Best of all this is a real gym. It's not for the sissy's. Its where real workout enthusiasts can come at a very reasonable price and have everything at their disposal to get the results they want.

Great gym for locals as well as people passing through the area. Lots of options for memberships or just a day pass as well. The main bathroom downstairs was just refinished by local businesses and it looks awesome!

Well equipped gym. Has a stretching area, stationary bikes, treadmills, free weights and machines. Not a fancy health club but has basic locker rooms and showers and everything you need for a great workout. Daily and monthly passes sold.

Great gym with a variety of equipment (machines, free weights, cardio, small area for powerlifting) over two floors. The great variety means you can change your workout up and even try variations of the same thing. The volume of equipment means not having to wait to use something. The clientele is serious, the owner lives what he does, and you can feel at home no matter your current condition or level of experience.

I got a week pass at CCG to avoid a few vacation pounds. It is very reasonable for the price. There are more machines than you could possibly use and even during peak hours there was never a problem finding a machine. Features a great window store front from which the beautiful downtown can be seen. There is also a lounge type area in the front of the store and complimentary coffee which I utilized to get some work done during that post cardio creative phase.
