Corner Store and Restaurant

My parents used to take me here almost every weekend growing up. We sold our cabin a few years ago, but I had the pleasure of stopping in for breakfast this past fall. The pancakes are still just how I remember: bigger than the plate and your head — topped with strawberries. The biscuits are gravy were perfect on a cold morning.

Wonderful experience! From the locals to the restaurant to the employees, we didn’t just feel welcomed, we felt at home.

My husband and I went to the restaurant for take out this morning and we were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. We were obviously out of place and everyone we encountered went out of their way to welcome us.

The food was fantastic! I ordered the country friend steak and eggs. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. He couldn’t say enough about how tasty it was. He LOVED the biscuits.

Always friendly and fast service. Bait & tackle, guns & ammo, gas and convenience store, and an excellent place to sit down and enjoy or take out very good food with an up north atmosphere and the family, friendly feel you expect from up north Minnesota. Perfect for a fast service of an early morning hot meal before that early fishing or hunting excursion close to some of the best hunting and fishing in MN.

Excellent breakfast! Even though a long wait.
Cassie, our waitress, handled the whole place by herself, every table filled!!! She had a smile for everyone! The Corner Store should be honoring this young lady!!!
As for the dishwasher/ bus girl, she was not helpful to the waitress at all, took forever to bus tables, restock cups and glasses. She needed a manager to give direction.
As for owner/ manager, non-existent!!! Where were they on a very busy day???

Very pleasantly surprised the food was great large quantities actually got what I paid for which just surprised me for some reason. The wait staff was also top notch. My wife and I will be back.

I order out breakfast for pick up almost every day. They are prompt getting the order completed, very friendly and the food is fantastic.

The restaurant, gas station with convenience store, and gun shop are all attached. The restaurant is on the right. It has its own entrance but is also attached to the C-store via a hallway. The gun shop is its own section in the C-store. There is also a bait and tackle section.

I’ve eaten there a lot. I love it. It’s always a good meal at a good price. Nothing fancy, just small town cafe style fare. Great homemade pies. The Texas toast is buttered and grilled just how I like it. The honey mustard is the best I’ve had, and the wife usually orders the chicken strip basket just so she can dip in it. Breakfasts are just like grandma made. There is always a special of the day.

The C-store has the usual snacks, drinks, hot food, and other common items.

The gun shop has quite an impressive selection. Rifles, shotguns, handguns, ammo, scopes, firearm accessories, knives, and other hunting gear. If you are in the area and like guns it is a must see.

Live bait and an assortment of tackle and fishing gear is also available.

Perfect stop between weekend cabin and home near the Twin Cities. warning their pancakes are the size of man hole covers lol. The toast- how is toast that good?!

Super friendly folks at both the gas station and restaurant. Offered us water for our dog. Delicious meal at the restaurant. Allowed us to park overnight while riding the MS River Trail.

Absolutely love this place! I come and eat the Hunter's breakfast everytime I come to town because I love the vibes of the restaurant and the food is always top notch!

They always let me get a glass off ice, free of charge, even though its supposed to cost 30sum cents (for the paper cup). One day the ice machine at the soda fountain, had already been shut down for the night (they were closing), but the cashier was kind enough to offer to go in back & fetch me a cup of ice from thier cooler.

Great spot for breakfast and lunch. Stop in for a bite to eat and head next door to stock up on ammo
