Union Hall Inn Restaurant & Catering

Great upscale place to eat. Very diverse small menu. Appetizers are great desserts are also. Entrees were good and surprising in their taste profiles. Reservations are a good idea. Small staff to serve all guests. Historic location....rumor has it that it is haunted.

I had the roasted cod served on a bed of wild rice with sauteed greens and a vegetable. I like cod but I don't think it's the best white fish. However, this one is. I have never had cod taste so fresh and light and succulent as the roasted cod . My companions had salmon which was reviewed as outstanding and another had the thick cut pork chop which to me looked delicious. That diner doesn't have a descriptive palette but said he liked it a lot. Union Hall is really an excellent restaurant. One of the best in my area. From now on it is my first choice for dining out.

Tonight we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary which is actually on Sunday 7/17 we had different plans but sadly we had plans cancelled on us by a different venue. With all honesty I am so glad our best laid plans slipped away and we found the Union Inn. My husband knew I was really upset by our celebration being ruined and he made reservations at Union Inn so we could celebrate 🥂 our 1st Wedding anniversary at a quaint romantic spot. It was one of the best, most delicious meals I have had in a long time, everything from the bottle of wine we ordered, to our server Rebecca everything was perfect! I highly recommend the Chicken Picatta and my husband recommended the Sirloin steak cooked to perfection. I cannot thank him and the staff for making our early anniversary celebration so special 💕

Ok, foodies, get off the NS Thruway for this gadtro experience! This establishment is the baby of 2 CIA grads. The atmosphere is a historic inn, well appointed. The menu is broad, gourmet burgers to lobster and rack of lamb. Your Chef Lauren Saltsman will accommodate dietary restrictions. Your pastry chef Megan Saltzman will do the same and creates amazing delights including Crem Brule, and Cowboy Cookie extravaganzas.

Food very good. Make sure you make reservations. Was hoping for more historical decor, a missed opportunity given the historical significance of the building.

We so much enjoyed our dinner here tonight. We’ve been looking for a good spot in the Johnstown/Gloversville area for years—finally found one!

Had a wonderful time last Friday at Union Hall,my dinner was fantastic!!! Can't wait for Lauren and Megan to take over the reigns of the restaurant. Kim your legacy of excellence will continue and your leaving it in good hands, best wishes for a well deserved retirement!!!

Went there for German food night. Flavors spot on. Portions good. Authentic dishes and a very attentive waitress. Desserts were amazing as well. Even suggested a German style beer for dinner. Perfect dinner.

You like food? Great quality and big portions? In a gorgeously quaint inn from the 1700’s. ? Well. Crazy as it is THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! First time. And we will be back. Good value wine list too. Really. Sorry to sound pompous, but we are foodies from NYC. And this is one of the best RESTAURANTS within 50 miles. Check it out.

Such a lovely meal with wonderful service!

Megan and her team are simply the best! We had chosen them to cater our wedding in Fultonville just this past weekend and the food was the start of the show! Kim’s cooking just can’t be beat and the chicken piccata is the best you’ve ever had! Megan’s delicious cupcakes were gone by the nights end and folks even wanted to take some home! Megan was so helpful and patient every step of the way and her staff was not only helpful but professional. 5 stars for these guys. You definitely want them to cater your next event!

Absolutely the best New England clam chowder I have ever had! Our 2 entrees were generous and plated beautifully. Had no room for dessert, but the brewed coffee was bold and fresh. Waitstaff was attentive but not smothering.

Last night was my first time at Union Hall Inn to celebrate my BFF's birthday. Everything from the beet salad, shrimp and grits appetizer, filet and scampi (which our entire party ordered) was outstanding. Deserts were delicious. Lastly but most importantly..our waitress, Shannon was delightful and her service was outstanding! Kudos Union Hall inn!

Each month the restaurant does a different night on Tuesday this month of September is Mexican (so so so yummie) October is Polish
We have never had a bad meal here ever and the price well it can't be beat. The staff is top shelf as well.

Always a great meal and friendly atmosphere. This is a must and it’s in an historic building as an added bonus. It’s the best by far in Johnstown! Their specials are amazing! We live in Johnstown and enjoy this place more than any other.

This place is outstanding, friendly, comforting and a true gem. It's food choices are varied from steak, seafood and salad. My experience was truly touching and I will be sure to check back in very soon. Reservations suggested before you arrive.
