Absolutely Amazing! So happy our friends recommended us to try! From the moment we walked in we were in love. Warm cozy atmosphere, beautiful bar with amazing cheese spread and crackers while we waited for our dinner, drinks were delicious, large portions, dinner was delectable! We didn't want to leave! The husband and I went out on an impromptu adventure yesterday. Last minute we had no kids and were en route to one of our favorite places . But as fate would have it we took a detour and found this amazing little restaurant. We didn’t have reservations but they were so kind to squeeze us in. Immediately the atmosphere hit us. Low lighting, calm, lots of cool antique things to look at, beautiful bar, a couch by the fireplace the perfect environment for a nice meal. The food was all cooked perfectly (my husband likes his steak very rare, still kicking) and he said it was perfect. The chef came out and greeted and thanked us. It was a wonderful place and a very beautiful scenic drive getting there through the mountains of upstate New York. We WILL be back, next time with reservations!

Very good service. When you walk in it’s very well decorated and makes you feel as if you are home. They take time according to have your courses brought to you accordingly. Perfect portions. I left with no leftovers but a full stomach. The meals you can tell are made the minute it’s placed. I appreciate how much they served me with smiles and not at all pushing you to leave. Left the table and had conversations with some of the owners and we were able to share memories.
Past this restaurant many times over many years and have never stopped till tonight and upset that I haven’t gone here sooner. Thank you again for amazing service even during COVID and seats being limited. I appreciate the meal and the smile that was on my face when I left.

We’ve known the Johnston’s forever, and they’ve always run a great family restaurant and business. Food is consistent, quick, and always with a smile. Definitely worth a visit.

My grandfather turned 90, and wanted to have his birthday here, and we had a blast.

Because the food was so good, my husband and I ate here two nights in a row while vacationing on Caroga Lake. The surf and turf was to die for (no seriously it was perfection) — highly recommend!

Our dinner last night was outstanding. It had been a long time since we had been there, however, our circumstances brought us there last night. A treat for the senses from the moment we enterd. Absolutely perfect. Everyone is always so friendly, the food couldn’t be any better. Unique place with so much to look at. Don’t come here if you are in a rush- this is more of an experience than a place to take care of a grumbly stomach!

As I said to the chef right to his face; I WOULD EAT THIS FOOD RIGHT OUT OF THE TRASH. the drinks are incredible, the atmosphere is outstanding and the food is to die for. The people are warm, friendly, hospitable. The chef came out to say hello. We ordered the lamb for my husband and the surf and turf for me. The food was plate cleaning amazing. To die for. I haven’t had a meal this good in a very long time. Definitely a hidden gem in Caroga lake. Everyone should stop in.

Hidden gem. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The surf and turf and lamb was amazing. The sides were so good as well. Drinks by the bartender was a huge plus. Will be back here again.

We had a wonderful dinner here last night. Our son utilizes a wheelchair and has special needs, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make our meal enjoyable. The place is wheelchair accessible, and it was easy to maneuver inside the restaurant as well. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious (grilled shrimp with fettuccine Alfredo, surf and turf, a haddock dish), and my margarita was one of the best I have ever had. Delightful surprises like snack bowls of Goldfish crackers and mini boards with crackers and cheese spread while waiting for the meal added to the fun. We are not local to this area, but should we find ourselves back here again, we will definitely return. Reservations are highly recommended.

Had my mother in laws 75th bday there....the staff was AMAZING, SWEETHEARTS, Food was GREAT, even accommodated us bringing our own cake!!! Definitely will be back and recommending!

As Ricky & Mallory said. The food is amazing & well portioned. We had the steak for two & was more then enough. Dont sleep on the irish coffee either. Cant wait to go back. Maybe even for a late night snack out back with the neighborhood raccoon.

Amazing dinner. I didn't have a reservation but was made to feel welcome. The staff were wonderful, welcoming and very attentive. I was asked my name and introduced to the rest of the patrons. I look forward to my next visit to the area and will be sure to reserve a table for our family.

Best surf and turf anywhere. Lovely family who is dedicated to making the dining experience top shelf. Have been going to Dick and Peg's for over 35 years. Always the best!!!!
