The Old Courthouse

Everything about this restaurant is absolutely perfect. It has a nice fine dining feel and style to this restaurant which makes this such a wonderful place. Definitely recommended!!

I'm not able to give ten stars, so I have to give five. Jane, Karen, Chef Robert, Bridgette, Jen.........the whole staff here are wonderful! Food, service, atmosphere all perfect. Sunday Brunch and Polish Week every October highly recommended.

This is such an excellent somewhat hidden gem. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is top notch. Today they featured a wonderful jazz guitarist adding to the ambiance. The Old Courthouse is highly recommended. For anyone who has never tried it, you are missing out.

This was a wonderful experience. Like stepping into another world, with its classic Euopean decor and menu. I brought an artist friend and we both vowed to return.

The service, the crisp linen tablecloths, napkins, was like stepping into a time capsule and being transported to that rich aristocratic time when tea is served and retired gentlemen linger over long lunch.

There was a piano but no one played. The artwork on the walls and rich fabric draperies truly suit this wonderful, historic location.

Climb the steps from doentown Newport, or park adjacent. It's so relaxing, you won't want to leave. I understand they also serve a Sunday brunch.

We were in the area for a wedding. My daughter found this place on open table so we figured we would try it! So happy we did! Food was delicious! Service was great! Atmosphere nice! Our waitress was super sweet

Excellent breakfast. Incredible selection, fresh foods and eggs to order to highlight long list. Dress is as you please from Sunday duds to shirts and tee. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The interior is finely decorated without being obnoxious. Ample parking from the back or on the oval though you have walk a lot of stairs in the front. Side/back entry has level access to the main door.

Ordered old fashioned. Could be better. The dinner scallops are great! Good service and music choice. Definitely recommend.

Great atmosphere, great food and I had the stomp as one of my sides. Waitress assured me I would like it and was nice to bring me a sample. She was right, I really liked it. Best part of the evening was the waitress, she made our dining experience perfect. I can't wait to go back again!

Had our annual Kiwanis party at the restaurant tonight and it was great. Good service, food, drinks.

Our youth group had a banquet for our graduating seniors at the Old Courthouse, and we've never had a better experience. Everyone we worked with to set up the event was so courteous and even the servers were completely thrilled to be a part of our event when I told them what it was for. And the food was DELICIOUS! We even have a girl with severe food allergies and they made a separate dinner and dessert for her. The entire three course dinner was for 30 people, but it was so much more affordable than other venues we had checked.. It was an amazing experience and I will DEFINITELY hold the banquet there again next year!

The meal was delicious I can't eat garlic so the chef was so accommodating it was amazing. The waitress was so sweet & helpful. The owner came out to say hello. It was a great meal & wonderful atmosphere.

Amazing customer service, food was fantastic! We will return to have dinner and enjoy the entertainment under the tent outdoors on Friday's.

It has stood the test of time!! A great attraction for Newport. Consistently AWESOME!

If I had to sum up the meal that we had tonight by Chef Robert Steel in one word , it must be , PERFECTION !!
From the crisp rhubarb fritters to the creamy, sumptuous, cold cantaloupe soup, Oh and my my my ... the best swordfish, that I do believe has ever been plated . Last but certainly not least was an amazing Almond Joy cheesecake and what a joy it was !!
Our server was very friendly as well as on the spot with impeccable service . The dining room was quiet and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend this place !

We had a brunch reception for my son’s baptism at The Old Courthouse and it was wonderful. Our guests were so happy with the food, drinks, ambiance and service and the staff was very accommodating of the younger crowd (code for toddlers… every restaurant’s worst nightmare). They even packed a to go bag for my brother in law who didn’t get to eat because he was chasing kids around. Thanks Old Courthouse!

Great Sunday brunch on. St Patrick's day. Great variety, we came as a large group and everyone had a great time. Even as a vegetarian I found a lot of options. And the coffee was incredibly good, one of the smoothest I've tasted. Lovely service, such friendly people.

Wonderful hidden gem! The Blueberry Bisque was a revelation. All of our food was very good, prepared to request accurately, and nicely presented. Flavors were fresh, balanced, creative, and comforting. Justice was done to all the fresh ingredients and served swiftly at this Old Courthouse. Well worth the side trip off the beaten path.

Great find for us on an unplanned trip to Clareemont, NH. Had a lovely Sunday Brunch, fresh omelets and live music--music perfect for a brunch. Mellow, but very good.
