Menahga Area Museum

What a delightful surprise! Unbelievably well curated. The volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about preserving history. They had wonderful stories to tell and gave an informative tour. An absolute must-see for the whole family! My 5 and 7 year olds loved it; especially climbing into the old car. We expected to quickly stretch our legs and get back to our roadtrip but stayed for at least half an hour.

What a treasure they have here! Worth the stop. The ladies were so friendly and this museum is a gateway to the past. Very fun to reminisce.

Visited this museum because we were stopping at the statue of St. Urho nearby. The museum was way bigger than expected and had so many things to look at. It is free which included a guided tour explaining everything. The lady that took us around was very informative and super friendly. She was great with the kids. Definitely worth a visit!

Very sophisticated for a small town museum. Your expectations will be exceeded!

It is a very interesting place. Plus they always have coffee every morning on Thursdays all year long to come in and visit. The turn outs have been between 8 and 20 people

Great overall view of 19th and 20th century Minnesota life, especially in Wadena County and Menahga. Fans of MAD magazine and science fiction comics will enjoy the exhibit devoted to cartoonist and illustrator Wally Wood, who was born in Menahga and spent his boyhood there.

Fun! A great mix of History and humor. The Finlanders of this small community can make fun of any scenario. North woods living at its Finnest! (Pun intended)

Cool place to visit! Many things have been updated and we were treated to a guided tour.

A great place to visit. Tours are donation only. Stop in and see some history about the town and American history in general.

I did not go into the museum but just stopped by to see the large statue and find a geocache.

Awesome war memorabilia along with local historical artifacts that were super cool.
