Went in to pick out two bikes today for my boys. Had the absolute best experience. Owner was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, showed us the various options available and was never once pushy or attempted to upsell us in anyway. The boys were both given the opportunity to try various bikes out and both found one to their liking. We will definitely be back.

I have never met someone so passionate about bicycles! The knowledge and friendly service, provided by shop owner Steven Hickey, is beyond compare. The 2020 year brought a lot of old and new riders to the cycling community and a lot of shortages in parts and supplies. High demands for repairs and services did not hamper Steven's professionalism.

Steven took the time to thoroughly inspect, test, tighten, lube, clean and make adjustments to my carbon fiber Raleigh road bike. He readjusted the stem to help me get more comfortable in the drops when I explained I was having problems with my arms going numb during longer rides. He recommended a tougher tire after I split one on a bridge on the bike trail and has provided several options for adding more gears to allow me to go faster as I get stronger. Also suggesting (then finding) rollers vs. a trainer for improving my indoor riding during the winter months. Steven also helped repair my 70 year old father's Townie, making him extremely happy!

Great selection of bikes for a small shop and they can easily order what they don’t have. Steve is a great bike mechanic and always willing to help.

first of all I loved the look of the shop, even though it was just in the owners garage they put a ton of work into making it look amazing. went in for a tube and some tube levers and they checked me out quick but before I left they took the time to get to know me which means everything. from my first experience going in they seem to be very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. I loved everything about this shop and will definitely be back in the future.

First time, we walked in to have a few older bikes fixed, you could tell you were dealing with not only a knowledgeable guy, but a genuine good person. I've been back twice since, once to buy a new bicycle for myself, and the next to buy one for my wife. The deals were awesome. When it comes to shopping, I'm all about local, small business ... but it's the relationships that I value most. At S&H, you'll find the relationships that keep you coming back, time after time!

I have been to S&H bicycle store more than 5 times over this past spring and summer and fall. Each and every time, I was helped in a very professional manner, even if I was just wanting a flat fixed. The bicycle prices are very fair, whether you would be interested in a new or used bike. There have been times when i was charged nothing for a minor adjustment. If you need ANYTHING related to bicycle repair or an upgrade for your current ride, you will not be disappointed here!

I was all set to go on a ride with my wife and a couple friends Saturday morning. A simple change of pedals on my wife’s bike turned into a stripped-thread-plan-killer.
I showed up that morning, Steve reached into his immense inventory of artifacts and found the EXACT part I needed!

It was very friendly

I do not typically write reviews online, but this business was so dishonest I feel the need to. I called S&H months ago asking if they had any mountain bikes in stock. He said they had one that was manufacturer defective, and one NEW Specialized Rockhopper. I went to the store the next day to see the bike. Immediately, when I was given the bike, I noticed it was used. It had chain marks on the frame, had residue on the handlebars from the previous owners accessories, and the model/paint styling was nothing like the recent model years for the Rockhopper. I asked him if this was the new bike, and he said yes. I test rode it, and then asked him again if he was sure it was new. At this point I knew it was used, but wanted to make sure he wasn't mistaken, as they sell used bikes as well. I even pointed out the clear indicators and wear to the "new" bike, and he again confirmed that it was new, even going as far to say "that's just how they're sending them these days." I did not purchase it, and took the photos to a Specialized dealer, who said the bike was from the 2012 timeframe. These guys are sleazy as can be. I wouldn't do business with that snaky owner if they were the last bike shop on earth. I took my business to Velo Domestique in Valatie, and was treated extremely well by good, honest people. S&H are the lowest of the low when it comes to being upstanding business practitioners.
