Hackensack Mountain Trailhead

Beautiful views from the top! Trail itself is not too hard as long as you're comfortable with incline and rocks. It can be a bit steep for beginners, but if you're even a moderate hiker you'll do fine. I was able to climb to the top in about 20-25 minutes going at a quick pace for a sunset view, then was able to get back down fairly comfortably in the darker light as the sun was starting to set behind the mountains.

Great out and back trail to the peak with a good view of Warrensburg. Challenging in some parts for the less experienced.

22 minutes to the top. Short but steep. Wet and muddy and the woods was filled with every color mushroom imaginable.

Loved it! Definitely moderate hiking, steep at points. Was able to take my 14 month old via hiking backpack. Be prepared when you hike this not for the faint of heart. Inexperienced Hikers can definitely do this with guidance of more experienced hikers

Great trail. steep in some parts. You can get to the top in about 30 minutes at a moderate pace...

Great short 30' hike with excellent views. Note, in fall, rocks can be slippery with leaves. Last 1/3 of climb a bit steep. Entered trail from Hackensack and Warren St's. Can also start from the high school

The view is amazing at the top. Beware for those not ready for a very steep and difficulty hike- there is one side going up that is quite rocky and difficult. There are ropes to guide over rock shelves. But if you want to take an easier way up, there is another way up. Quicker and less of a hassle. But overall, the view was breath taking.

A nice trail that will lead you either to a scenic view sky overhead the humble mountain town of Warrensburg ...or it will bring you straight to McDonald's. The choice is your's, traveler.

great hike, steep in parts but worth it for the views. i got a little lost on the way down trying to follow the orange trail. probably just me...

I live right in front of this mountain, so I've hiked it dozens of times. The path is well kept and the top of the mountain gives you a lovely view of Warrensburg. The railway can be a little treacherous in the spring time as the snow melts, because the summit trail is made out of pure ice. You might be surprised how long that ice sticks around, even into May!

Nice quick hike, good for getting outide when short on time. Well marked easy to follow trails, right behind the middle/high school. The central location in town is easy to find and really makes this little Mountain a focal point.

Moderate hike with great views of the town of Warrensburg at the summit. Was a little tough/steep in the middle but our 4.75 year old was able to make it up.

45 minutes up from Hackensack Street in Warrensburg, the last 10 minutes is pretty arduous. But the view from the summit is really great.

Good short steep trail. Kids can hike it.
