Egan Basin Guard Station

One of our family favorites! Great Mountain biking and hiking right from the cabin. The road is a little rough, but we brought a car in.

It was a great place to stay like being in heaven. Although I think they should let you check in early and check out later and have a little longer dead space in between. After all they're not trying to make money on us, are they? Anyway it was a great getaway.

Fun little place to stay. Road getting there from Utah was kinda sketch, I would suggest the route from St Charles ID instead even though its longer. The description on recreation.gov says a car can drive up there but I wouldnt drive a car on either route. Saw a bunch of deer but no elk...just their poop :)

We stayed there Sunday/Monday(June 23, 2019-There is still snow at the entrance so be prepared to hike in (about 100 yards)-lock was gone from door and left back window is cracked but intact. The folks that have been renting it, have not been cleaning up after themselves (litter etc)...the cabin is nice-location is beautiful...roads are not that great right now. There are a lot of flies in the cabin, so bring some fly paper. There are some wildflowers out-and the scenery is amazing!

Very good group cabin if people stay in tents or trailers.

Beautiful surroundings. Road is was pretty rough. The mosquitos were so unbearable that we packed up.amd left just a few hours in. We had on 4 layers of bug spray, and the suckers even got me through my jeans.and bit my face! Maybe go later in the summer once the snow melt has been long gone and they've died off.

Nice place to camp. The issue was glass. To many people have been just throwing glass in the fire pit then when it gets dug out the ashes just get thrown next to the cabin.
