This was a one night stop while traveling but the campgrounds were great. Nice sites, many right on the lake. The camp host was friendly and helpful with details on the campgrounds. Plan on staying here again for a longer stay. Like the space and layout. It has a boat ramp and would be ideal for fishing from boat or shore. We just enjoy the natural surroundings and peace it offers. We enjoy most of the Corp of Engineer campgrounds we have stayed at, and this is on the top of our list.

Absolutely beautiful views. Close boat ramp. Clean bathrooms. Love all the spurred butterfly flowers along the road. Will be returning here soon. Got home a few hours ago and miss it already. Its a beautiful and quiet campground. Wish I could live here.

This probably isn’t a popular facility for children. There are no playgrounds and the data is less than hit and miss, so no evening Netflix and such. Phone service for calls is a little better, but still questionable throughout the campground. The town of McCormick is pretty small, but you have a grocery store and a well stocked hardware store. Some people might see this as a shortcoming. But this is one of the best places to get away from it all. The spaces are roomy and pretty private compared to most. Meticulously maintained by some of the most hospitable hosts you will ever meet too! The lake is quieter than most even in the summer, allowing for a peaceful sunset or sunrise depending on your spot. My only complaint is the campground is only open part of the year. We camp all year long and are really disappointed that this location can’t be one of our choices in the fall/winter.

Hidden gem, never seen a cleaner campground than this one. Extremely quiet and every campsite has a view. Park Attendants are extremely helpful and are always available. Its even close to restaurants!

We camped at Site 32 on Tuesday May 25. Absolutely delightful. Large peaceful campsites nicely separated and right on the lake, very clean bathrooms with showers. Our host Walt made us feel very welcome. This is camping at it's best.

Absolutely one of our favorite places to camp. Super clean campsites and bathhouses!!! And you can’t beat the great attendants both are phenomenal especially Walter!!! Walter helped us out in more ways than one. Can not say enough about this campground. Only hope that it will start to stay open longer for more camping there!!!

Very nice camp! Our favorite! The attendants are friendly and helpful! The sites are large enough for modern 35 to 40 ft.campers with 50 amp service on most sites. Park is clean however the shower houses are getting old but still good. Thanks Army Corp of Enginers for your services!

My family and I were passing through with friends and had planned to stay for a night to enjoy the lake on June 4th.Beautiful park, private sites all right on the water. We loved our site, and immediately went down with my 3yr old to go swimming. Little did we know my husband would have to be rushed into emergency surgery a few hours later and not be out of the hospital for two more days. Mind you it was the weekend and all the site where full plus I had never pulled our 41ft 5th wheel so this was going to be challenge. I woke our camp host the next morning and boy was Patrick excited and ready for the challenge. Within an hour we we were gifted a two night stay by a family who was have mechanical issues and weren’t coming in for those two days!!! Wow, just Wow. The host where there with the transition to the new site. The park attendant came to check on us and let us know that we were in his prayers and if we needed anything at all to just let him know. Bottom line. This is an exceptional park worth staying at!

We had the unfortunate experience with our gray and black water tanks not sufficiently emptying. When we asked the Camp Host for assistance, he knew who to call. His name was Walt and he did not hesitate for a moment to help us out with a less than desirable job! He got right under our motorhome, resolved the problem and made sure our tanks were empty and clean. We were so very appreciative of his service, which I am sure was not in his volunteer job description! So thankful for these two men who serve as volunteers at this lovely facility. The bathrooms are spotless, several sites are on the water, the service is A+...phone service not so great, but Elon Musk is going to fix all that😊

My faith in Mankind has been restored. Please note that "Mankind" has nothing to do with (men),...but specifically the kindness of man, ...one man, our Camp Host, Mr. Walter Cooke. Our very pleasant stay at Hawe Creek Campground was due to Mr. Cooke's concern and personal care for our comfort and well being whilst staying at the campground. Thank you Walter for such a pleasant stay. Paul Dean

All I can say is this place is unbelievable!!! We were on site 6. Private and huge spot. (And our spot was smaller than most) Walter (camp host) is so friendly and helpful! He manages this place very well!! My only complaint……. PLEASE STAT OPEN LATER IN THE SEASON! It is closed during the best time to camp! We will definitely be returning next year!

Stayed a night with my grandpa. His site was close to the boat ramp (very convenient). It was clean and quiet. Did not visit bathhouse because he has amenities in the RV. I like that it was kind of remote compared to the other campgrounds. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

My wife and I have been to many campgrounds throughout the summer months but have never been to one as nice as Hawes Creek, the camp host and park attendants obviously take great pride in keeping the sites and restrooms very well kept as well genuinely pleasant to talk with, this will definitely be our primary destination for camping.

Great campground for fishing. Peaceful, no frills place to go to enjoy nature and basic camping. Campground includes boatramp and dock. Sites are well spaced with plenty of room to move around.
