Beautiful grounds even though everything was dead from the freeze. I can't wait to go back in spring or summer.
The mango crab cakes were probably the best crab cake I've ever had, and the black and blue shrimp and grits were not bad, a little pricey for shrimp and grits, but I did enjoy the meal.

Great, slow-paced upscale restaurant! We came for a late lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised.

Service was almost too slow, we felt we had to wave him down every so often to get his attention. A group of servers was hanging out in the back room so they weren’t really out and about like I would’ve expected.

Food was fantastic, all the desserts were so yummy, my favorite was the strawberry shortcake! I couldn’t have the crab cake but my family gave it a 5/5 stars.

The signature bisque lived up to its exotic billing, eggplant Napoleon towered with fresh layers, and the A9 Wagyu filet was expertly prepared to delicate perfection. White chocolate bread pudding was a rich and balanced close to the meal.
Superb service and an unmatched atmosphere of old Louisiana opulence make Carriage House restaurant a treasure for a special occasion or memorable excursion.

The Carriage House, on the grounds of beautiful Houmas House & Gardens (an old plantation), is a wonderful experience in fine dining. Everything was so perfect! You'll want reservations!

The Carriage House is SUPERB. Lauren, our wonderful waitress, had the best recommendations and knew good food. My family loved the salmon tarte starter. I personally savored every last drop of the creamy pumpkin bisque. The Red Fish served over dirty rice was flaky and cooked to perfection. And just when we thought we couldn't fit any more food the dessert menu came. We tried all four of their INCREDIBLE desserts, but my personal favorites were the bread pudding and red velvet cheesecake. This beautiful restaurant is a must try. I cannot reccomwnd it enough.

Excellent crab cake and the amaretto pound cake was a real treat.

We weren't planning to eat here originally, so we came in for around 3PM without a reservation (and probably underdressed), but the hostess quickly found us a table. Service and atmosphere were incredible and the food was good.

The restaurant can be quite difficult to find, however.

Absolutely incredible meal with family today! Food was beyond amazin…all 13 of us agree on that! Dessert was spectacular! Our server Lauren went above and beyond! Walking the grounds after was so beautiful! We cannot wait to go back!

One of my absolute favorite place for a date night, dinner with a client or even family. The grounds are beautifully kept and plunty to look at. It's honestly peaceful and has so history.

Very nice restaurant with a large dining table in the middle surrounded by smaller tables. There are other attached dining rooms. We split a crab cake as an appetizer. It had a chili remoulade sauce with it. I love crab cakes and have eaten many of them. I don't believe you will find a better one anywhere. It was large and full of lump crabmeat. There was very little filling. For a our main course we each had the Eggplant Napolean with a saffron cream sauce. There was plenty of crabmeat and the eggplant had a crispy coating. It came with a couple asparagus and carrots. All of our food was excellent. Our waitress did a great job taking care of us and was very nice. You can't go wrong eating here.

So glad Oak Alley restaurant was closed and we saved a reservation here when we did! The grounds are gorgeous! We often stay in Sorrento when we visit and never been here in the last 4 years! So glad we did get a seat here. The food is fantastic and totally worth what you pay for (it is a bit priced than your normal po boy restaurant, but SO worth it for real good food). Photo of food below is the pork chop *chef kiss*. The waiter was very nice and attentive even when it did start to get busy.

We were dressed for walking tours this day and definitely felt undressed, but next time, we’ll dress up a bit and make multiple dinner reservations here in the future!

Why we took no photos inside restaurant is beyond me! It was so fancy! Delicious food! The pumpkin bisque is amazing, (and I don’t like pumpkin😂)
We had a child with us, and got a few looks when we couldn’t keep our 2 year old entertained without letting them touch anything 😂 but I’d do it all over again everyday if I could! Amazing food, service and beautiful place!

My son and I ate here on Sunday May 1, 2022. Great Food and service in the Carriage House restaurant. I would like to thank the owner, Mr. Kelly, for the amazing place to see history as it was in this beautifully maintained mansion. The tour was awesome. This was my 4th visit but 1st inside tour. Our gentleman tour guide did an outstanding job with the history. Want to bring my family back.

Wonderful restaurant! This was my first time and Christian was an amazing server very polite and respectful! I will definitely come again!

Always a GREAT meal in a phenomenal atmosphere with exceptional service. This is the best crabcake on the planet - mostly crabmeat (not just breading) with an amazing sauce. The redfish was excellent, and the bread pudding is always one of the best I've ever had. It's worth going just to see the massive table in the middle that I estimate to be 45 feet long - seriously! The artwork, furniture, and architectural features are what we call in Louisiana, lagniappe. You need to eat here if you're visiting the area.

Whether for special occasions or celebrate life, this place is a gem. Gets you in such an uplifted mood for the moment and the rest of the day. Each accessory is well placed, blended in, tells a story, work of art and workmanship. It's like dining in a museum. Great times and great day trip.
