Grapevine Cafe' & Gallery

The Grapevine was well worth the drive. My friends and I shared several appetizers and they were all great. The Dried green tomatoes were delicious. The Spicy Pecan Shrimp were our favorite appetizer of the ones we tried. The gumbo was a bit thicker than what I’m used to but it had a great flavor.

The cheesecake topped with Pecan Praline Sauce was so delicious 😋 and the best dessert I’ve had in a long time.

Definitely worth the drive/trip to Grapevine; we will be back to visit soon and try more dishes!

The young man serving water and clearing the table did an excellent job. Our waitress seemed a little distracted perhaps not enough servers. My order was a little bit wrong. But it was delicious anyway. One item that may keep me from coming back was the chair... It was very uncomfortable.

Had a wonderful dining experience complete with apps, seafood entrees, dessert, & drinks. The martini menu is especially impressive..too bad we couldn't try them all 😆 Service was also prompt & polite. There was live music while we were there. Happy we were seated far enough away to enjoy it in the background & still be able to converse at the table.

My husband and I never go out for Valentine’s Day. He got off early and said get dressed let’s go some place. We have heard many great things about this place. We arrived and it was reservations only so we got turned away we spoke to the hostess she was so kind. Half way to our vehicle the hostess comes running out saying she spoke to a manger someone had a cancellation and could fit us in. We were greeted with roses instantly. We loved the food no complaints it didn’t feel like a chain restaurant very authentic. The art is nice to look at and the live music is such a delight. This has turned into one of my family’s favorite spots.

Breiana and LeighAnne are the BEST servers. My family surprised me with a dinner here and EVERYTHING we had from appetizers to dessert was Soooooooooo GOOD!!! We will be back and we are requesting to be at Leigh Anne's table. Oh and the musician came to talk to us. His music was great 👍🏿!!!

A definite gem in the town of Donaldsonville. The atmosphere is upbeat with the live music but not overbearing. Wait staff was wonderful. The crab cakes as an appetizer was one of the freshest tasting crab cakes I've ever eaten in my life. The crab meat au gratin is absolutely worth the extra cost to add with the crab cakes. The food is not over seasoned so you can actually taste the different flavors of the authentic Cajun cooking. Although some may seem the the food takes a little while longer to come out, the quantity and quality of the food is well worth the wait.

We had a dinner party of 8 women and 2 babies, honoring and celebrating my mother's 85th birthday with her. Service was excellent, awesome attention to detail. We tried an array of appetizers and different entrees, it didn't take very long to get our food, and all were enjoyed other than a few personal taste preferences.

Everything was great! We had amazing service and amazing food. Definitely going back. Establishment is clean also.

Had a really great experience. We went after seeing the Union Pacific locomotive "Big Boy" come through with my 2-year-old.
They are out of a few minor things due to the another influx of clientele from the train. We arrived at 1:10ish when they typically close at 2, but we did not feel rushed when the time passed 2pm. Our server was very friendly, and i appreciated that all of the restaurant staff wore masks.

Food: Firecracker shrimp was delicious and included 6 pieces of shrimp. Meals started with salad that was fresh with tasty vinaigrette.
Wife had chicken parmesan that she said was good, and started with a cup of crab, shrimp, and corn bisque. She said the bisque was a little heavy on the crab flavor, but i ate some and thought it was good.
I had crabcake stuffed redfish that was delectable with some kind of cream sauce on it that mixed well with the mashed potatoes that were included. I also had a couple of Irish Coffees and was definitely not disappointed in the ample amount of Jameson whiskey that was included.
For dessert, we had the bread pudding with white chocolate sauce and it was nice and hot and very tasty.

If you find yourself in Donaldsonville, LA, I highly recommend paying this restaurant a visit.

One slight con is that the bathrooms did not have changing table for children.

Had a great time and enjoyed a special drink. Steak was wonderful and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her eggplant dish. Definitely recommend a visit.

This has been my favorite for years ! I love Grapevine ! The food is awesome and atmosphere always great ! The general Manager however is mean and heartless. I saw her treat a customer like trash . This is really sad . Her favorite statement is " Don't come back ! " I think that is really sad .

This was a nice find in a small town, thanks to Google maps. We were in the area for plantations and the high rating for this place was accurate. The setting was very cool, and the food was great. Our kids had the chicken parmesan and we had catfish cornbread and stuffed chicken breasts (both drenched in a crawfish etouffee). It was more than enough food, and for $80 was a little expensive but worth the cost. An additional kudos for them leaving us a vase of sweet tea so we can self-refill!

Stopped in here for lunch between visits to Nottoway Plantation and Whitney Plantation. The food was superb. I had the Spinach and Andouille Stuffed Chicken Breast and it was fantastically flavorful and well made. My dad had the Crawfish Bisque and he really enjoyed it. Service was great too!

Hidden gem and defenitely worth a visit when you are in the area. Great cajun food. Fried catfish was amazing. Firecracker shrimp delicious. Service was outstanding. Parking is just outside in the street. Very cosy inside and looks like they offer live music at occasions too.

Had a big old gumbo here. It was delicious! Service was phenomenal and you can even buy the art work off the walls...so I did.

The food and service was excellent! Tye was amazing!

Evidently the Mayor was there with an entourage and they were rude, obnoxious and very very loud as they were standing up against our table as we were trying to eat!

FABULOUS, the music, the atmosphere, the service, the martini, the food, and dessert! Everything was wonderful. Live music on Friday and Saturdays, definitely recommend reservations. Crab cakes with augratin was very full of crab, and flavor. Portobello stuffed mushroom is amazing, as was the stuffed fish, and the Cake Batter Martini was so delicious I had to get another. We finished our meal off with Lemon Icebox Pie. Great service, friendly, and helpful. Not the quietest place as there were birthday celebrations, gathering of friends, families, and couples; however, the music playing was still present with a great selection of different songs. We will be back !!

I was lucky enough to visit Grapevine to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the Ribeye and it was delicious. They served the white chocolate bread pudding complimentary since it was my birthday, but we also ordered lemon pie. I highly recommend both. The staff is fantastic, atmosphere terrific and meal was delicious.

Delicious food/cocktails, impeccable service, and great atmosphere in the heart of Donaldsonville. Each time I have visited it has been consistent. Many food options for various budgets. Reservations recommended as it often crowded. Try the Sunday Brunch. Call for the live music schedule.
