We love Chris and his staff. Friendly, great food. The margarita is awesome.
This is a regular spot for us. The bridge is out and they are hurting let's help them stay afloat. You won't be disappointed.

We had a large party of 11, no problem seating us, The service was excellent!
The food was great. Salsa top notch 👌
And the children's chicken tenders were real crispy chicken with crisp fries.
You might want to specify what you want with your order. Each mex restaurant is different when adding cheese and sour cream to your order

Great local place for fabulous Mexican food! Very clean and there's dishes not found in other Mexican restaurants! 😋👍😁. Update on 9/21/2023, the food is still fabulous! The Bridge across the Calabash River is closed as it gets rebuilt so I hope it doesn't affect this wonderful restaurant!!!

I have been searching for a Mexican restaurant for a while. I've found it, Central Mamma's Mexican Restaurant and Taqueria in Sunset Beach. Absolutely delicious. The salsa was excellent & they brought us a second basket of complimentary chips without us asking, that never happens. My husband got the steak quesadilla and it was wonderful. I got the shredded chicken Grande Burrito and it was delicious and big enough for 2 people. Delicious food & very reasonable prices.

We intentionally try different Mexican restaurants, this will now be our top restaurant. The building has had a multitude of tenants and had a bad reputation, but this central mamas is legit and deserves praise. All of our food was great. Recommend the sausage and queso appetizer. My empanadas (pictured) were excellent

Best Mexican food my husband and I have ever had. I lived in Guadalajara for a summer and I can taste the freshness and authenticity. We ordered shrimp tortillas and chipotle shrimp. The shrimp were fresh, the chipotle sauce was complex and delicious. Ask specifically for sauces. We were rewarded when our waiter brought us tomatillo, extra spicy, and pineapple (habanero?) sauces, all exploding with flavor. We will definitely visit again next time we're in the area.

Delicious!!! I had the Pollo Loco (guys it has cooked cactus) so very good. We also had fajitas, tacos and quesadillas also delicious. They have a really food yum yum like sauce with a kick. Definitely worth the stop.

This spot is SO good. One of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve ever been to. Both waiters were too tear so sweet, helpful and very attentive! Personable. Mixed my margarita at the table, that was a cool experience!!! Very comfortable in there and food came out super fast! Salsa is to die for. Will definitely be back there so soon!!! Have worked next door forever and never tried, gonna be my new spot!!!

Ate here in Calabash today, 01/27/21. Food and service was spectacular. Met the owner, very nice man. Definitely worth coming in.

The BEST, most attentive service! Our bartender, Gisele, was knowledgeable, told us drink specials, was attentive to our needs and very sweet. A man, who I am assuming was the owner, was also kind and attentive to the customers. The food was excellent and I like the fact that they offered three different hot sauces that were brought out with our chips. We have a new favorite Mexican restaurant. :)

Outstanding food and drinks.
This isn't chain style mexican food. This is authentic, freshly made mexican food exactly like you would get in Mexico.
Our group had some of their outstanding mixed drinks. These are also not your mass produced drinks, by true mixed drinks.
Outstanding staff that made sure we didn't need anything throughout our visit.
If you've never been here, definitely try this restaurant.

A local restaurant with the owner on site. Have been there twice and had great meals and outstanding service. I'm not sure why this place isn't busier but, don't be put off. $8 margaritas are worth every penny.

Amazing food. Everyone in our party had a great meal. Fantastic margaritas! Great queso. It usually is hit or miss with Mexican restaurants at the beach yea, but this one delivers it all.

We live in Oak Island. 68 mile round trip but it is worth it. Best Taco Salad with Grilled Chicken. Well worth the drive. A road being closed is hurting their business. Good people, please help them out. The business is way down....

My friend and I had dinner there tonight. The people were very friendly. The service was very good and the food was sooooo good. I will go there again. I had a raspberry Margarita and it was done very well. A rating of 1to 10 I give them a 20!!

So delicious. We came here early and got seated right away. Table chips and salsa were great. Guacamole is incredible. Some of the best I’ve tried. Owner is really nice and personable. Had the Pollo Loco. Delicious with fresh cactus! Be sure to try their green and hot salsas, both homemade.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Our meals were delicious, service was friendly and the flan was fantastic.
