Great food, great stop! Went for a family dinner. I had the broiled flounder, very tasty. My wife had salt and pepper catfish, also yummy! Excellent, friendly service at a Stanly County institution. Be advised- restaurant is cash only!

We made the drive from Charlotte to eat here!!! It was amazing. Great food all around, amazing service. Everyone is so friendly, attentive and welcoming. I will say, if you’re in a car pulling into Jays. Go extremely slow, exaggerate the slow pull in. You’ll be fine in a truck or lifter SUV. My boyfriends car fender liner got busted out even when he went slow due to how rough it is pulling in think because It’s uneven and bumpy and makes it harsh. beware of the parking lot. But it’s worth the drive for the food and service.

By far the friendliest staff, the nostalgia of the " old school " fish camp atmosphere brings back fond memories of simpler times, like a breath of fresh air in this rat race of a world we live in. Not once been disappointed with quality, or portion sizes of food. And then there is Sheila who just radiates a good vibe and always ensures amazing accommodation to her customers and lets not forget Mrs. Lisa who never fails to greet each customer with a smile and the most pleasant attitude. All around a wonderful restaurant.

Ordered the small fish plate and was pleasantly surprised with the size of the flounder that was brought to our table the piece took up most of the plate it's well worth the money.

The salt and pepper catfish filets are worth driving here from out of town. Fried pickles are great for a starter. The family atmosphere of the servers makes everyone feel at home.

The food was great! The staff was very friendly! I tried the whitefish plate and I'm glad I didn't get the all you can eat because even on the small plate it was enough to bring home. The hush puppies are also very good.

This was our first experience at this restaurant. We have heard from plenty of people that they had the best steak but I wasn't expecting the juicy deliciousness slab of meat that we were served. It was so tender and normally A1 is a must, but this time it would have been an insult to use I also got the combo of flounder and shrimp. I underestimated the portion sizes. I easily have enough for a whole other meal or maybe 2. Now the frosting on the cake was our server. Shelia. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. Our teas were always filled. The wait time seemed reduced to almost nothing with the salads, hush puppies and amazing conversation. She worked so efficiently and made sure we had everything we needed. She seemed to really care about her customers and I feel like her goal was to put a smile on each customers face. 10/10 food. 10/10 customer service. 10/10 on our first experience. Will be coming back and will be special requesting her again!!!

Sheila did an amazing job waiting on us, giving us advice. Service and food was great. The fried shrimp and salt and pepper catfish. WOW

This genuinely is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. I know people who work there and they go above and beyond on the cleanliness compared to other restaurants they have worked in. There's a reason it's the busiest in town

Absolute Best dinner in Stanly County, love their Ribeyes, Vic’s entire staff is awesome, but we love some Allen Sinclair as well! You never go wrong with Jays Seafood & Jays Downtowner!!!

This was our first visit. The food came out very quickly and was hot. We had the popcorn shrimp and baby flounder. The shrimp was very good 👍

Flounder was cooked perfectly and deviled crab was packed with flavor. I had the broiled scallops which were cooked perfectly. Best hush puppies I've ever had!. Service was super friendly.

My Father wanted to go here for Fathers' Day. The place was extremely packed. We were able to get seated immediately after entering which was amazing given the number of people that were there. The waitress was super friendly and had the drinks to us very quickly.

There was hardly any room to move around, and it was total chaos trying to squeeze in at the buffet. I'm not a fan of buffets and large crowds of people in restaurants. My fish was very good. The vegetables were on the bland side, but understandable given the fact that people have a wide range of dietary restrictions and requirements. The staff was very pleasant in their interactions with other customers and the kitchen seemed to be on top of things by keeping the buffet full.

My Mom and Dad seemed to enjoy themselves and we're very pleased with the food and the service provided.

Overall, they did an outstanding job handling the large number of people that were there for Fathers' Day!!

That place has the BEST SEAFOOD I have eaten in a very very long time! I even ate the deviled crab and I hate those! The prices were fantastic and the portions are huge!
Great fresh sweet tea! The staff is off the chain excellent! They don't take debit or credit cards, cash and checks are accepted.
