Fore's Family Restaurant

My husband and I were in Laurinburg visiting his family a couple of weeks ago when we visited the restaurant. Hubby happens to be old friends with the owner. We went around 2 and we were happy it wasn’t crowded. We waited about a min before someone came out to greet us and they were ok with us picking our seating. We got a table in the corner by the window b/c it was away from the other tables. We’re still in Covid so we’ve been trying to be careful when we do eat out.

The restaurant was small but really nice. The decor was relaxing and modern. My only critique is that I thought they had too much decor on our table. We were in a 4 top with stools and I think it had like 3 or 4 items of decor and I think it was just a lot. I mean you don’t really want just one other thing people are going to touch and then you have to clean it. So I’d say knock it down to one item maybe. That aside, they also had a couple of outdoor tables, which was nice to have as an option.

The service was nice and friendly and prompt. She took our orders and brought out the dessert (packed to-go) first. At first, I thought it was odd, but it’s mainly to make sure they don’t see your slice so I appreciated that. More so on why later.

I ordered a Chef Salad, broccoli soup, and coconut cake. Hubby ordered the pulled pork, with a side of fries and salad. He got a slice of chocolate cake.

I am pretty sure she said it was broccoli and cheese soup, but when I got it, looked like just a broccoli soup, and I was initially expecting something like the Panera soup. Honestly, this soup was so amazing, I was glad it was different. It was just a super good broccoli soup. Very savory and filling. It wasn’t rich and I felt like I could eat it all and be both full and not worried about dairy upset. I ended up saving the soup for dinner that night and tried to put a dent in my huge Chef Salad. I love a good salad and I was so happy this one didn’t disappoint. The meats and cheese had so much flavor! And I think they sprinkle some sort of seasoning over it. Not bland at all! And I love that they use leafy green lettuce, although I might mix it with something with a bigger crunch like romaine. Just to hold up better to heavier meats and dressing. I also ended up saving half of this salad for later to eat with my soup.

I’m going to devote a whole paragraph to the coconut cake. Y’all, it was so damn good! Even in the picture, it fell apart b/c it was so moist. The flavor was just spot-on perfect. The frosting was light and creamy, sweet coconut...just perfection. Honestly, I was mad I didn’t order two slices of this. And if we hadn’t had to leave before they opened, believe me, I would’ve been the first one at their door to get another slice. I might commission a whole one next time we visit.

Hubby also enjoyed his pork and commented on the authentic NC flavor. And like me loved the cakes and soup. We even brought an extra salad and soup for my mother in-law-for dinner.

I really hope they keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to trying them again.

Im gonna come back and give a review after i actually eat the food but im gonna start with customer service.... For this area, EXCEPTIONAL. She greeted me pleasantly, walked me thru the menu, and made good recommendations. I just relocated to the area and I have really been looking for some good food. The place smelled great and the nice dem lighting would make for a pleasant date night. Just a day thru town and I should have stayed and ate but I am gonna head home and sit in front of a good movie and try this philly cheesesteak sub, side salad, and my teriyaki bowl is for later. Thankyou again just for the pleasant greeting and service.

Ok i am back.... THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. MY 15 YEAR OLD WOULD NOT LET MR ENJOY THE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK $10 FULLY LOADED AND DELISH.

Then i tried the teriyaki bowl. Added shrimp $10 + $4 for shrimp... Poured the sauce over top and devoured it. I will be back to try something else off the menu real soon.

My sister and I were passing through town and decided to eat at a local place instead of fast food. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the grilled chicken and a teriyaki chicken plate and it was some of the best grilled chicken that I've eaten. The waitress made our meal even better with her positive and sweet personality. The cook was excellent and was very nice as well. This is an excellent place to eat if you're passing through Laurinburg.

Had lunch here yesterday and it was very good. Visiting my home town for the first time in about a year and a half, yep Covid-19. A high school friend opened the restaurant, so I had to check it out. Had the Pig Pickin' with fries and a side salad, with chocolate cake. My wife had broccoli & cheddar soup, chef's salad and coconut cake. Everything was well prepared, delicious and portions were generous. I was so pleased that I ordered the broccoli soup and coconut cake to go. Fore's follows CDC recommendations regarding masks and social distancing. The staff was friendly, informative and made you feel like one of the family. If you are ever passing through, or even near by, stop in and grab a bite of great NC food and down-home atmosphere. Support this great family spot and my friend Kenny Fore and the staff at Fore's Family Restaurant. It is worth every penny.

When I first walked in I was warmly greeted by the owner himself. The place was buzzing so I knew the food would be good…it was exceptional! It accommodates both indoor and outdoor seating with a cozy atmosphere from the initial ding of the doorbell. Make time to chat and learn about his mom from Japan and don’t forget to order the sweet tea. It’s the best I ever had! Definitely the place for lunch when visiting Laurinburg!

We went here without reading the reviews. I am not surprised to learn it is so well-rated. The food was amazing. The Caesar chicken salad had some of the most tender chicken I’ve ever had. The kids’ meal burger was huge, and after my daughter stole my salad, I ate her kids meal, and it was SO good.
The fries were seriously maybe the best I have ever had.
To top it all off, the staff was very attentive, our drinks never got low, and they were very pleasant.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile and absolutely great customer service. After we were seated they were very attentive to all of our needs and requests.... The food was exceptionally good and way above what is expected of a small diner. We will highly recommend this place to all of our friends and we'll make it a frequent stop whenever traveling down highway 74.

Delicious food at a competitive price. Probably the best burgers in laurinburg honestly. Staff was very friendly and service was excellent

Excellent service, excellent food! We had the Carolina burger, Philly steak, and BLT special. All were 5 stars! Would definitely stop here again.

Pretty plates of delicious food. Small menu with a special each day. Homemade desserts.

The ice tea was good. The chicken was cooked through but was very tender and juicy, and the veggies were just right as well. Service was great. Good stop over when returning from the coast to the triad. Priced very reasonably. Interesting artwork and decorations.

We went with a party of 7 on the 17th of June 2021.
When we got there they said the would put two tables together and would come outside to get us. In less then 5 minutes we were seated. The atmosphere was quaint and very inviting. The wait staff was awesome.
Now the food was above and beyond good. My husband and I had the hamburger, by far the best burger ever. I want to go back and I'm sure we will.

What an amazing surprise to find a wonderful place to eat a meal while we were riding through this town, with which we were unfamiliar. The menu is relatively limited, making it possible for the staff to prepare each item to perfection. The local people must be very happy to have this little gem added to their town's main street. The food really is delicious, and served with attentiveness and a will to please the customer. We hope to go back as often as we pass through this village on our way to/from the coast.

Really enjoyed my lunch there today. I hope to be back soon.

Very Clean! Great atmosphere. Small restaurant in the middle of the old time stores. Got the club sandwich and fries. My food tasted great. My husband got the pulled pork and he said it wasn’t that good. My daughter got a cheeseburger and she said it was good also.

Had lunch on a Friday with my brother, Dr J Earl Bowling. We both got the burger. Hand formed patty, soft sesame seed bun and the crinkle cut fries were perfect. Excellent unsweetened tea, strong but not bitter!

SO yummy! Very well made. You can tell they make lots of stuff from scratch. Stopped here in lieu of fast food on a road trip and it was great! Clean, cute atmosphere and friendly staff.

Passing through on the way to the coast and found this local gem. I had the Teriyaki Bowl and my husband had the Buffalo Chicken special. Both were plentiful and delicious. We shared the pig picking cake for dessert. Highly recommend...staff was amazing!

I dine at Fore's 1-2 times per month. I am ALWAYS greeted and seated promptly. Whomever greets me ALWAYS has a smile and ask how my day is going. The service is 4.5 - 5 stars, sometimes they are just plain busy! The food is ALWAYS great. I recommend the BBQ , Teriyaki Bowl, or Cheese Steak. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and take care of you! Great dining every time!

Well, Fore's Family Restraunt has done it again!!! Today was my first visit for breakfast. The breakfast menu is served 7:30 until 11:00 am on the LAST SATURDAY of each month. On those dates there's no dinner service, but you won't need to eat the rest of the day, as the portions are SO generous. I had Gravy/Biscuits and a side of bacon. It was simply delicious. But, don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself on Saturday, February 25th. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
