Visit Shiloh Battlefield and the Hornets Nest on April 6 to see special events about the battle. It is very well done and a great variety of activities from the 1860's time period. Great family adventure.

Prentiss’ men of the Sixth Division held out for hours against repeated Confederate attacks, buying General Grant time to organize his defenses

The Shiloh National Park has the most beautiful monuments, particularly for the South. I was so touched by the thought put into the symbolic statues. The bookstore at the park is fantastic on its own, and they sell a useful little book called "A History & Guide to the Monuments of Shiloh National Park" by Stacy W. Reaves. I highly recommend this book. Shiloh is my favorite Civil War park because of the monuments and the well-stocked bookstore.

This Civil War Battlefield is a must. To stand on this hollowed ground was a very somber and moving experience. The park staff was wonderful and the driving tour was amazing. Though I checked this off of my bucket list, we will probably go back.

Went through the Hornets nest during our boy scout hike through Shiloh park. If you watch the movie before hiking around or get the local boy scout troop book and read it before. You will have a better understanding of what you are looking at.

Shiloh National Military Park is a great stop to learn Civil War history. There are great exhibits, guided tours and even a short movie about the war. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Deep in the woods the canon & monument was found, practically forgotten had we not had a detailed battlefield map.

The Shiloh battlefield is very well kept. Start with the video presentation at the visitors center.

On Memorial Day they had a ranger guided tour, that went over the story of the battle and information of where it took place.

You have to see. You will understand why the US Army was able to hold out for so long.
