Always a pleasure to stay at Ray's. Jake and Kat are rocking it at making sure everyone feels welcome and at home.

Cabins are a bit basic but it is a place to sleep and rest between your adventures. I am thankful for the provided heat fan though!

Location was a plus for exploring West Virginias backroads on the Harleys. New River Royal Gorge is a must see & only 5 miles down the road. Primitive camping very spacious area. Bathhouse clean & hot shower. Owner Jake (hope I remember his name correctly) super nice guy that greeted us as soon as we pulled up. This will be our go to when in the area.

Kat and Jake made my campsite reservation a breeze! They were incredibly friendly and helpful. The communal kitchen was a highlight! Even during the busy Labor Day weekend, Kat and Jake remained positive and adaptable.

Absolutely amazong, chill enviroment. I met lots of friendly dogs and a friendly cat named thomas. I recommend this campground to anyone looking for a nice time spent out in the woodlands of WV. Showers are scolding hot for as long as you like. Ice and firewood are available for purchase, just pay before you leave. Very fun enviroment with enough space for your camper or tent, there are even several cabins for rent with electricity. Awesome place to take your family!

Love rays! Great camping/cabin rates. Even when they are busy it never feels crowded. Rays is just a short drive into Fayetteville as well.

The bathrooms and showers are well kept. The cabins are always clean as well. Just a bed and table, but the covered porch and picnic table are great especially if there’s rain. I’m pretty sure the cabins have a small fan and small heat as well!

Highly recommend rays!

Great spot to camp if you're out to climb. Free coffee and sometimes free empanadas! Only wish there was a communal fire pit. I was too tired to make a fire sat night, would have liked to have a place to mingle with other like minded outdoorsy folk without having to go through the effort to be too friendly haha. All in all great place, bathrooms were decent, TP was well stocked, showers were free and HOT at 6am. Can't comment otherwise since we were basically just at the crag all day.

Really didn't want to leave a review and make this a not so hidden gem, but since Jake and Kat have started working here the 10/10 experience got even better so I thought I would have to leave a review. The vide of the camp ground is very laid back and easy going and having hot water is always a bonus for a campground!

I used to stay here in my college days, and it’s been a few years since I’ve been back. And just Wow! So many updates since 2015.
The fall views are beautiful as always. The covered pavilion with picnic tables, larger bathhouse with hot showers, and expanded office areas (with amazing breakfast this past weekend btw) are stellar.
Camping base fee 10$ a night with firewood, bags of ice and washer/dryers at add on-she takes venmo which is super convenient! Also they support in-need families in colombia and have the opportunity to let you donate at the front office which is amazing. My dog loved befriending their adorable basset milo. We will be back soon!

Best campground!

My girlfriend and i came to climb for a week or so... and before i knew it i did not want to leave.

Dren is the best!!

Facilities are very nice, and clean. Bathrooms, showers, electrical and hook ups - large space. Several areas to set up camp, cabins or hitch a tent.

We had a blast and heading down to the red river gorge. [i do not want to go... but as they aay happy wife happy life.]

Cannot wait to come back!!

The lakes and the climbing in the area is magnificent - it is a pleasure to see people from all over the united states and the world.

Great stay. Spent two nights here while whitewater rafting. For less than it cost to just park our RV overnight at Adventures on the Gorge, we got full amenities (except water hookup). $9 per person for 30 amp hookup, flush toilets, clean showers, picnic table and for ring, laundry ($4), enough fire wood fire two nights of cooking ($5), bagged ice ($2). The owner was very sweet and available for anything you may need.

Awesome campground! Nice and quiet, not far from the places we wanted to go which was rock climbing and sightseeing. Ray was super nice, explained the layout to us when we arrived, the pricing structure $9/nt/pp over 12yrs for nonelectric. There was a very clean, large bathhouse and laundry available as well as a sink to clean our dishes if you wanted. They also have a volleyball net! I wish I would have known so we could've brought a ball and/or badminton or something like that for the kids. They have lots of firewood available and ice available to purchase. Ray made rounds at the end of every day to check in on everyone which was nice, especially the last night we were there and a big storm was rolling through. He said if it got too bad to go ahead and get into a cabin if needed with the kids and our dog. How awesome! Will be returning here!

An awesome place to visit and take a vacation! Staff are super friendly. The grounds are beautiful and kept up nicely. And, the new renovations to the bath house are great! Ray's Campground is very accommodating and in a superb location near all site-seeing activities in the area. I always recommend this as a vacation destination to everyone!

Great, quiet little campground. Absolutely cannot beat the prices and the place is very well kept. Definitely recommend it for any trip to the NRG. Close to everything important (the bridge, Hawks Nest, Babcock, etc).

This camp ground is always a great time! Popular with outdoor enthusiests and very reasonably priced. It is a large campground with plenty of space for big groups. Showers, bathrooms, and even cabins are available for patrons. The atmosphere is relaxed due to the owners being laid-back and friendly. Note its cash only when you leave! Also it's always nice to let the owners know you enjoyed your stay.

Stumbled upon this place while out looking for campgrounds. Absolutely a hidden gem. Peaceful and quiet. The lady that runs the place was nice as can be. Plus it has a fishing pond with bass and bluegill where my kids had a blast. Will definitely go back to this piece of heaven.
