Three Rivers Avian Center is a very cool, secluded location dedicated to rehabilitating injured birds, primarily birds of prey like owls, falcons, eagles, etc. They offer a very incredible opportunity twice a year for a photography workshop, where you are able to take photos of their ambassador birds in different, natural locations. This is a great chance to get pictures of many birds that are hard to find out in the wild. The people who work for the Center are friendly and informative, and it's very clear they all care very much for each of the birds in their care.

Three Rivers Avian Center also does educational displays at many local festivals or fairs with their ambassador birds, giving many people a look at these incredible animals. That is actually how I first found out about them, and then we decided we wanted to visit.

Their visiting hours are very limited, so please check their website or call before making a trip. Their location is also pretty much on top of a mountain up a gravel road, so if it's raining, be careful. The location is very understandable considering the work they do though.

Give them a visit if you can, and support them if you are able in some way. It's a very cool experience.

The open house was a great experience! Got to see hawks, falcons, owls, and a buzzard, some very up close. The staff are all great educators. Learn about raptors, conservation efforts in the area, and what the center does for rehabilitation for all types of non-game birds.

Note: be prepared for a couple of miles driving up a gravel mountain road to get there. Well worth the trip though.

Educational and amazing! Ron and Wendy are the top of their field at the top of their mountain. Well worth the trip for families, school groups, conservation-minded day dates.

An amazing experience for us and for the kids. Our 4-year-old and 6-year-old love birds, and especially hawks and owls. This was a great chance for them to see several of each up close, and even a bald eagle. The tour was quick, friendly, and informative, and our boys are still talking about it 3 weeks later.

We stopped for the free open house. Loved seeing the work this center is doing - each person there was passionate about the birds they are helping.

It's great to be able to see living wild birds up close. They have monthly open house where you can tour the facilities, and they also do presentations all over the state. Really nice people doing important work!
