Red Geranium Restaurant

Wonderful service, delicious food, and warm inviting atmosphere. We had a quiet, romantic date night out to try this "new-to-us" restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was. We'll definitely return and look forward to bringing guests to this gem!

This is such a cute quaint restaurant. We ate brunch on a rainy Saturday in January. It was cold and dreary outdoors but inside it was warm and cozy and welcoming. Our service was excellent. Food was excellent and not your ordinary fare. The chef obviously has some knowledge and imagination. We enjoyed our meal and intend to come back again soon when passing through Indiana.

We ate a late lunch on the outdoor patio- quiet and quaint. The service was great and the food was delicious. We are happy we went out of our way to find this place.

My partner and I had an amazingly decadent meal here last night and there wasn't a single bad thing on the table from soup, to wedge salad, to main course, to three different desserts (yes we ordered three and they were all better than fantastic). The prices are definitely something a penny pincher or frugal denizen would balk at, so I doubt half the bad reviews have even tasted the food or they'd know it is definitely worth the price. The berry cheesecake was bursting with berry flavor, which surprised me in winter, and the berries were not bitter or too sweet in the slightest. It was the perfect piece. We ordered the Ribeye cooked medium and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We did not expect to like the sweet ginger chili sauce that came with the cuban cigar app but it too was surprisingly fantastic. The waitress said the carrot cake was perfection and raved about it and she told no lies. Even the vegetables were well seasoned and absolutely delicious. It's an incredibly long drive but I cannot wait to come back.

This was a delight! Definitely worth driving a few miles off I-70. Reasonable prices and good food. Beautiful atmosphere, white clothes table cloths and napkins.

My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary weekend in New Harmony, as it seemed like a relative safe haven during the COVID-19 pandemic. We stayed at the New Harmony Inn, so I made dinner and brunch reservations at the Red Geranium. We were so impressed by New Harmony! Everywhere we went, people were taking precautions and being so kind.

Our temperatures were taken at check-in, and everyone wore masks until seated. (Restaurant employees stayed in masks all the time.) Tables were properly distanced and spaced. Our server for both meals was Jo Beth, and she was wonderful! The food was delicious, and she had great recommendations for us when we were trying to decide what to eat.

Our meals at Red Geranium were one of my favorite parts of our visit to New Harmony; since I was pregnant during my visit, I needed to ensure extra safety during the pandemic. Dining at Red Geranium made me feel somewhat normal for the first time in a long time!

For being located in a small town, this restaurant serves very good meals. The food is flavorful and presented well, it has good ambiance, and the waitstaff were professional and pleasant. I've had several meals here, and it is consistently good. I recommend the fried goat cheese -- delightful.

Historic area with walking tours everywhere. Quaint restaurant with decent food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, especially when compared to today's runaway fast food prices. All in all, we love this place.

The wife and I have never had a bad meal! The service and atmosphere has always been great!

Friendly staff, good food, nice ambiance, and a great location. Can be a bit pricy, but they do have affordable options as well, including burgers on Thursday nights. Worth checking ahead and making a reservation, especially for busy nights.

As parents of five, my husband and I don't get out as often anymore as we used to, LoL... however, we LOVE good food, trying new places, frequently returning to the good places, etc. So we were looking for something different to do Saturday night, and a friend/couple had mentioned Red Geranium - so we figure, why not... we also visit New Harmony quite often, as I'm a photographer and my husband loves hiking, etc (so we also visit New Harmonie State Park a lot) anyways, WOW - I am almost at a loss for words to be honest... you are started with dinner rolls and drinks (water on arrival, then we ordered a red wine), then we had fried goat cheese, which imagine a delicious gooey ball of goat cheese, fried - served on a little pond of cranberry sauce, served with bread... then, I had the 6oz bacon wrapped filet, with asparagus and baked potato, and my hubs had the 12oz Ribeye, with broccoli and a baked potato... we also shared a white chocolate creme Brule of some kind... it is hands down, no question, the BEST food, atmosphere, experience, date night over all... we've had in a LONG time (if not ever - as far as locally) it was exceptional!!

Drinks specials were good. Food was as expected for the price. Good food that you pay a good price for. Liked my waitress.

Food here is very good and the location is superb in this wonderful town. Also has a great bar

While I haven't eaten there much I go there all the time. The kitchen staff is the best! So friendly and full of life!

Enjoy the experience - great dining stopover when exploring Robert Owen’s 1825 Utopian settlement with its historic buildings, public spaces, and shopping.

My wife and I had dinner and breakfast at The Red Geranium. The food and drink were great, as were the people. David was our waiter/server for dinner, and was knowledgeable and personable. I apologize for not getting the names of the staffers who took care of our breakfast, but they were terrific also.

Delicious lunch. Absolutely not a fat-friendly place as all the patio furniture is old-school skinny wooden chairs. If you've got substantial hips or thighs, it'd be safer/more comfortable to order to-go and eat on a bench or take it back to your room.

Came out to $60 for two people with a 20% tip, which is a smidge over reasonable, but it's also New Harmony. The whole point of the location is there's like four places you can eat and the RG is the bougie one.

Still, bar menu food for lunch is firmly sitting in the $15 for a grilled chicken sandwich territory.

Excellent fries.

I get the impression lunch service is more for the guests of the Inn. The staff seemed to still be getting in their grooves and things were pretty relaxed at noon.

This restaurant has the best bruschetta we've ever eaten! Service and food are well worth the price!!
