CHEF CHU'S

I had been a devoted fan of Chef Chu's wontons for as long as I could remember, savoring each bite with a sense of delight. However, since the change in ownership, I've noticed a distinct alteration in the consistency of their wontons. While they remain satisfying, they don't quite capture the same greatness that once defined them.

Nonetheless, I find comfort in the fact that Chef Chu's still offers a lot of delicious options/dishes that consistently tantalize my taste buds. The diversity and quality of their menu items never fail to impress, and the friendly demeanor of their staff adds to the overall dining experience. It's curious to note that the restaurant seems to be surprisingly empty whenever we visit, a testament to the hidden gem status that Chef Chu's has seemingly retained in the midst of these changes.

We stopped by here expecting a buffet because of the reviews. There was no buffet and we almost left. I’m glad we didn’t. The food was absolutely amazing. It was extremely fresh and amazingly authentic. It was some of the best Chinese food we’ve had. Hands down better than any buffet.

Really good quality food. You could tell the fryer oil was fresh and the sauces didn’t leave a bad aftertaste, like a lot of places. Good ratio of vegetables and meat in the Hunan dish. I’m pretty picky about my food and rarely eat out, but I was so pleasantly surprised with Chef Chu’s that I had to come here to give them five stars.

Best Asian food in the area. We moved here from Canada where Asian food is a favorite. This is the first time in years where we had an absolutely delicious meal at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend it.

The food here is amazing! The flavors were incredible. I have never had better Asian food anywhere. Every single dish was excellent. I highly recommend Chef Chu's. I wish it wasn't 1700 miles from home! I will definitely be back!! Prices are very reasonable and good sized portions.

Our favorite (real) Chinese food in town. Their buffet is great but if you want the real-deal ask for their "secret menu" this has their Taiwanese specialities on it. If confused ask for the owner/ manager, a sweet little middle-aged lady. She is happy to help you with your order/experience. We have become tired of the local Chinese food all tasting of too much fish sauce because of the strong southeast Asian influence in the area. I love Thai and Vietnamese food too, but that is not Chinese! Also they deliver.

Went there for lunch. They have really great lunch specials, all are in reasonable price.
But my favorite is the KungPao squid with extra spicy, their homemade pot stickers are yummy too. Have been going to chef chu since I moved here(7-8 years ago), from the previous owner to the current owner, it’s so far still my favorite authentic Chinese restaurant in town. Lots of authentic dish. Me and my husband go there once a week.

Ate here once with a friend of mine and LOVED, very reasonable price and great food. Will gladly return anytime. I am South Asian and this is my cuisine.

This place is amazing. The food came very quickly, and was delicious. The service was exquisite. Along with the decor and lighting, the seating was very comfortable. The pricing is so affordable, less than $40 for two people. The portions are large enough that you could eat your fill and still have some to take home. This place hit the trifecta of restaurants: fast, good, and affordable. 10/10 would recommend.

We are from out of town and stopped here. It was probably the most amazing food I have ever had. The crab Rangoon was incredible and the general tso chicken was fantastic. Even the fortune cookie at the end of the meal was thinner than most and melted in my mouth. Definitely recommend!

This is the best Chinese restaurants I've ever ate in my life. The staff is very friendly, everything is cooked fresh by order. The tables, dishes, silverware and the bathroom are extremely clean. If you Dine in you will have a great experience with your family. Everything I've tried tasted good. This restaurant represents Steven's Point. Dine in, take out or delivery you will not be disappointed. If you eat here once, you will definitely continue to come back.

Out of the way, hole in the wall, with surprisingly good food. Fresh ingredients in fried rice made a HUGE flavor and texture difference. Crab rangoon filling could have been a bit more, though flavor was great. Used a heavier wrapper so crunch and chew were more than other places. Not the best we've ever had but good none the less. Good crunch on General's chicken, with plenty of peppers, if you want them. Rice and General's served on separate plates with generous portions of each. Even steamed the broccoli lightly, instead of just plunking cold broccoli down next to fresh cooked food. Nice touch.

Great crab rangoons from what I can remember and chicken is good too

Delicious food, relaxing quiet atmosphere, great service, very affordable. I recommend the sesame tofu.

Went there for some crab rangoons tonight, THEY ARE SO GOOD. 10/10. Also they have great service. Very nice people. The dining area was really clean as well.

This restaurant consistently provides amazing service. With a friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere, it is a highly recommended location for good food.

Moreover, we have placed an order for delivery twice with this restaurant and it arrived within a reasonable time and was accurate both times.

Friendly service. We were in town visiting relatives and wanted something different than pizza and burgers for dinner. Lo mein was lightly sauced but flavorful. Crab Rangoon was a little sweeter than we're used to but still tasty. Put stickers were great!

I saved the best for last. On the Traditional Chinese section of the menu are some items not normally listed on Americanized Chinese menus. I love mapo tofu but it is hard to find at strip mall Chinese restaurants. I talked to the lady about what it was and she recommended it. It's potentially a messy item for takeout so it arrived in its own bag. It was GREAT. Spicy salty meaty, with plenty of meat and lots of tofu swimming in a red sauce.

We don't live that near Point but end up there a couple times a year - we'll make it a point to come back! Thank you!

Always fantastic service and very fair prices. Plus, they serve the best Chinese food in WI! Love Chef Chu’s!
