Sportsman Cafe

My father's and my fist time here.  1/26/2024 Friday 4PM:  Greeted by 2 lovely women servers with beautiful smiles.  Cozy midsized restaurant with 3/4ths of the tables full of customers.  Everyone was having the Friday special of all you can eat fish or shrimp for $9.99.  My dad and I ordered the special as well.  It came with baked beans, coleslaw, dinner roll, choice of potato, and tartar sauce.  Our plates arrived with a mountain of food.  I noticed another customer had a pile of onion rings that looked delicious, so I asked one of the lovely servers if their onion rings were as good as they looked.  She confirmed they were indeed.  As my father and I were discussing the nice restaurant and excellent food, she surprised us with 2 onion rings for us to sample.  That's excellent service.  We were so full from our first plate full, the all you can eat option, isn't really an option. Lol.  We needed a to-go box.  My father insisted he pay for our meals and left a 35% tip which say a lot coming from my dad.  As we drove off, my dad said he would like to go back again. He really enjoyed the food and service.  I agree and said next time we will have to get the special with onion rings.  Rating:  10/10 on food, service, atmosphere and price.  Perfect all around.

We had a very nice experience at the Sportsman Cafe. They gave us very generous portions of fries with our order. We ordered onion rings and the plate was filled with them. They were not super greasy and nicely battered. I ordered the sportsman’s burger with pepper jack cheese and it was great with the BBQ sauce. The waitress was nice and pleasant to us too. We would recommend this cafe and will be back if we are in the area again.

Food was really good and service was nice. Great little place to catch a bite to eat!

Home Cooked, Real, Good Food! Go There, You Will Not Be Disappointed!!

Stopped on Sunday noon. Even though a packed house, you are greeted and served in a timely manner. The food here never disappoints! Very generous portions and steaming hot on arrival!

Wow real Home cooking!! If you want real good food and service with a smile this is the place to be! Kids and I went there and a Thursday evening at 7:00 pm and it was busy! Food was fresh and hot. I’m bummed I didn’t have room for pie.

Absolutely fantastic - got the stuffed hash browns (small) and was served a plateful of comfort food goodness. Our server was very friendly and cheerful. Try an orange crush float for dessert. I left feeling so happy and well fed!

This place was pretty packed when our group of 5 came in, but we found a table by the window and sat down. It was a rainy day, so we decided to leave our fishing camp and get some warm comfort food. Are we glad we did. The food was phenomenal and the service was great! We walked away stuffed…heading back to camp for a nap!

All it was cracked up to be and much much more! The .50 coffee is amazing and the food is better. 5 people all with huge breakfasts.......$46.22. A better deal cannot be found in Minnesota....Oh....and the size of those pancakes. Great job Sportman's Cafe....it is not hard to tell why every table is full!

Such a big meal for under 20$ it could feed 3 people comfortably and they are very welcoming and its a great place to eat.

Great little diner with that hometown feel. Terrific food friendly atmosphere.

We have made a habit of staying at The Sportsman’s Cafe whenever we fish Winnie. They have fantastic loaded hash browns with sausage, onion and cheese. The service is really fast and friendly. Always remember to get the “porcupine meatballs” when they are on special. Save room for blueberry pie if they have it. And finally - they are cash only so plan ahead!

We stopped on our way thru town, food portions are large and tasty! We will be back for sure.
P.S. a pizza cutter for kids pancakes, too smart!!

The food is great. The staff are friendly. The prices are reasonable. It's like going back in time. It's all a diner or sportsman cafe should be and much more.

Crazy good food. Had a meat lovers omelet that was huge. Had to take half home to eat later.
