Black Cat Books and Coffee

This is a wonderful homey little used bookstore. They serve good coffee and tea. They have two small tables and a couch for sitting. Its a great place to sit, relax and find that book you always wanted to read. They also carry New Mexico authors and books on New Mexico history. The also have a good metaphysical selection of books. The staff are warm and friendly as well. Its a good place to sit and have conversations with locals.

Just went back for the first time since it reopened. It's smaller than it used to be, but it's still filled with books! There are also stickers, cards, and postcards (at $1 each!) available for purchase. There are a couple or three tables to sit at if you want to enjoy some coffee there.

The coffee isn't fancy, but it's good. You can get prepackaged snacky sweets too.

The lady working when I visited was super nice. There was no decaf ready when I asked for decaf, so she brewed a pot and brought my cup to the table where I was sitting.

A cozy place filled to the brim with books, old and new. Lots of local author picks, as well as cards, postcards and gift items. Grab a cup of coffee and a prepackaged pastry as you visit with friendly locals. A perfect T or C gathering spot.

Super duper cute. It's the kind of warm, intimate and inviting charm that's lost on the big box bookstores you'll find at a mall near you. There's a diverse and satiating collection set up in colorful, quirky shelves littered with black cat figurines. The owner is kind and the shop smells blessedly of cookies.

Great little shop that serves the community. Staff is always friendly and helpful. A real asset to the area.

Great prices on books, quaint spot to relax, have a cup of coffee, or chat with other customers. Although I do wish they had a better children's selection. Coffee was pretty good as well.

The young lady working there was so friendly and had a beautiful smile. Now I have to go back.

Thus bookstore is great. It has an extensive and eclectic collection of anything you may be looking for. Don't sleep on this place. It is very cozy with all sorts of nooks where you can just hang with friends for coffee and pastries or just lounge alone out on one of the patios. And the atmosphere is made even more delightful by the sweet soft sounds of jazz floating through the shop..a perfect browsing experience. I highly recommend this shop!!

Great little coffee and used book shop. They don't have espresso drinks, just several versions of regular coffee plus some pastries. The coffee is excellent, and so were the baked goods. Good selection of books, too, and we bought a couple.

We were passing by T or C on I-25 and found this place from a Google search. Very glad we did!

Friendly folks, friendly atmosphere, good free-trade coffee. The lady at the counter was a neighbor at a previous campground and it was fun to see her again. A fellow making beautiful stone & wire jewelry added a unique touch to this charming little bookstore.

Great service. Fair prices for good, organic and locally roasted coffee. Relaxing, funky and friendly environment. It's en route from El Paso to Albuquerque and I'm going to make this wonderful recent discovery a regular stop. Small tables surrounded by books and a very neighborly feel make this place a nice place to slow your pace for a bit.

What fun! We stopped in for a cup of coffee and found a (new and used) bookshop with a relaxing atmosphere and cozy spots to sit with your cup and review your purchases. If you need snacks with your coffee, there were scones or cookies.

Ditch your big-box experience for Black Cat. Reasonably-priced used books and good selection. Good coffee with prices to shame Starbucks, and half a dozen charming places to sit and enjoy it. You won't feel awkward spending a couple of hours, because no one seems to mind. Rhonda will gladly help you or chat if you'd like, and she'll leave you to your thoughts otherwise.

The owner was so friendly and welcoming. The first thing she told us as we walked up to the counter was "come inside and get warm," with a smile. We plan on stopping in next time we pad through T or C.

Excellent place! Rhonda, the owner, welcomes one and all to her wonderful, retro used bookstore and coffee shop. Her husband roasts the excellent coffee.
