Amazing spot on a Friday evening in February! Simple choices. Great sides. Fish was fresh and delicious. Son had grilled salmon and I had fried flounder.
And a huge basket of hush puppies to start of the meal.

This was a pleasant experience on all accounts. We grabbed takeout and enjoyed a drink with our dog outside while we waited, which wasn't long at all. The staff was warm and friendly. They went above and beyond!! They made great suggestions on what to get. We are glad we listened because even little things like dunking the hush puppies in the soup was an indescribable experience for our taste buds!! We never would have thought to do that. The food was absolutely delicious! Hands down one of our favorite places in the area!

Excellent place for all the yummy seafood you’re craving! Service was prompt and friendly, food was delicious, and portions were great for the cost. Breading is light and allows the seafood to shine. Honorable mention to the coleslaw: It’s actually good here! At many similar restaurants it’s typically inedible. If you’re visiting Topsail, this may be a bit of a trek and off the beaten path, but it is worth the trip.

Great friendly family atmosphere and food was delicious! This place is most definitely a favorite among the locals and has a small town feel to it. The portions are great! Must visit and return!

I’ve been going to the Riverview Cafe all my life. I’m 64 years old and am happy to say it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. I now live in the Atlanta area. I still have relatives that live nearby. I can’t go that far to visit them without a trip to the Riverview. Everything is excellent and the Chocolate Pie is the best on planet Earth. The Whole Flounder is fabulous. The Scallops, Shrimp, Deviled Crab, and Hush Puppies are phenomenal. The view is amazing and the service is spectacular.

My sisters and I found this gem of a restaurant last year and HAD to come back!! The food is SO delicious, the hush puppies are like none other, and the view is fabulous!! (I’d eaten half before I snapped this pic b/c it was so yummy!!) Our waitress, Brandy, cracked us up, had us in stitches and gave us THE BEST service!!! It is tucked away, almost hidden, but SO worth the drive!!! Highly recommend!! WILL come back!!

Great location with fresh local seafood caught right out back of the restaurant.
Large portions and good vibes. Service was quick. Could be a little wait as this place gets busy. It's definitely worth the short wait. My fried flounder was cooked perfectly. The wife had the bacon cheese burger platter. Both were very good. This place is known for its pie selection. Save room for dessert. Pies are excellent.

The lunch special, was just that, SPECIAL! Fresh shrimp and catfish, fried to perfection. FRESH, delicious coleslaw, and the fried zucchini was in a league of its own! I am so happy I found this place. Well worth the 45 minute drive. I WILL be back!!

This place has been around for about 8 decades for a reason. Their food is simple: simply cooked, simply fresh, and simply delicious. You know what you’re getting when you walk through the door. Whether you’re a local who’s been eating here for their whole life or a visitor for the first time, you’ll love this slice of heaven on the river. The food is super fresh and comes out hot and fast. All the waitstaff and cooks know their customers and their needs. You can’t beat this place if you’re in the Ferry.

This is the most wonderful place to eat at. The food was great. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean.

First time visiting, but not my last! Friendly staff (Savannah was our delightful wait person.). *Excellent* hush puppies. I ordered a a shrimp and clam combo and they were perfectly fried. Be back soon guys! (On my way out, I noticed their beautiful pies. Will have a slice on my return trip!)

My wife and I have been going to Riverview for 30 years. I have never found better fried southern seafood. They absolutely set the standard. Their hush puppies are also amazing. We live up north now and adult children frequently bring up how much they love Riverview. You can’t go wrong.

A hidden gem. Well worth the drive to Snead's Ferry from Topsail Island. The food is outstanding. I loved the seafood chowder. And the fried seafood was amazing. Nice and crisply fried. Not drowning in grease. The wait staff was so helpful and knowledgeable about the food.

We had a 60th surprise birthday party here for my brother. The food was delicious. The staff was amazing. There were 22 of us and I don't know how they did it, but all of our food arrived at the same time. The kitchen staff has to have been amazing as well. I always get the whole trout!!!

Spending the weekend in North Topsail with family and found this gem.
Excellent seafood options for anyone who loves fresh food from the ocean.
I opted for the three item combo and had fried flounder, shrimp and scallops. Plate came with fries and hush puppies. Substituted applesauce for coleslaw.
My wife ordered the grilled flounder and baked potato with a side salad.
My daughter ordered the grilled shrimp and my other son ordered the fried flounder and catfish.
Amazing flavor and capped off with home made lemon merengue pie.
If you happen to be near the outer banks and love seafood, treat yourself to a meal at the Riverview Cafe, you will be glad you did.

The flounder is absolutely exceptional! Great ambiance, excellent service.
Update Feb 20, 2024: For flounder like this photo, order the whole flounder. Otherwise, you'll get something like fish at Long John Silvers! Which was just okay, but not exceptional like the whole flounder!
Also, hush puppies and fried zucchini are fantabulous!

Everytime I'm in the area, I make it a point to visit the Riverview Cafe. It's a family establishment that has been around for a long time. I found this little restaurant in 2017 and the quality of food atmosphere, and friendly staff hasn't changed. My go to favorite is the cod but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Their hush puppies are amazing and they have fantastic homemade tarter sauce. Give them a try the next time you're nearby and you won't be disappointed.

“Good to you and good for you” to quote Debbie the sweetest most hospitable woman I ever met. I’m from Michigan and would fly down here just to see her and have dinner here again. She had 6 families come in and knew them all by name. I left with a full stomach and a happy heart.
About the food, All the food is fresh, well cooked and made with love. Every plate that came out looked and smelled just as good as the one before it. Whether you’re local or from out of town, make time to come here. This establishment is the definition of hospitality and Debbie is at the heart of it.

Riverview Cafe is Awesome! The food was amazing, the service and people were so friendly. We had the Stump Sound Oysters and they were fresh and cooked perfectly! The fried oysters were just as good, cooked perfectly and tasted sooooo good! The shrimp was fresh and tasted wonderful! Absolutely a must go! Oh and no words for how good the Key Lime Pie was! Remember it’s sea food it’s pricey but the service and atmosphere along with the taste is so worth it!
