Dixie Dog Drive In

Food has always been top notch and the family that owns this Dixie dog is the nicest!

Their Dixie Dogs and fried cheese are so wonderful! I love to support local and it was worth the short drive. Bonus was they had onion rings!

Can't find a cheese stick like Dixie dog has anywhere else except maybe at a state fair. Great food at a good price. Service was a touch slow but every thing was made fresh. That's worth the short wait in my book! Good old school burgers. I'm not a fan of hot dogs but the Dixie dog is worth eating!

This place doesn't look like much, but I gotta tell ya, the Dixie Dog is a corn dog that is magical! It is, bar none, the finest corndog I have ever tasted. I've lived here for almost 3 years. 1 minute from my house is a corn bread covered weenie of glory. Please get one.

If you are in Idalou, Texas or driving through ... STOP at the Dixie Dog!!!
The service I received Friday May 23, 2019 was over the top.
And I FINALLY got to eat a REAL super dog ... flour battered / not cornmeal battered.
Haven't had one of those in so many years that I can't even remember how long. Was a delicious taste of wonderful childhood memories!
Even better was the fact that I got my Dixie Dig and small coke free. I had mentioned that it was my first time there and I hadn't had a super dog in years. When I pulled out money to pay, the young lady who took my order (Jamie) said, "No. It's on me." Having just left the Idalou cemetery for a cousin's graveside, this unexpected surprise certainly made my otherwise sad day better.

My favorite place in the world to eat! Rudy and his family are always friendly with a smile. He also makes the best vanilla cream coke!

The price was very fair, and the food was great! I especially loved their cherry limeade

Idalou location makes food 100x better than Wolfforth. I'd rather make the drive to Idalou for this quality!!
