Rock Cave Nature Preserve - Parking Area

Just exlored the area around the cave, and it was pretty cool with trail in good condition, but beware, there was lotds of glass on the trail, right after parking

We live 10 min away from here & had never been! We fell in love with this little hidden gem! Its not a very long hike but we followed the trail & we went off the trail as well weaving & winding back & forth across the holler. Lots of rock walls on both sides & the creek & cave to play in. The kids LOVED it!

Beautiful scenery, easy hiking

Absolutely loved it. Had a blast. Only downfall was all the broken glass, and trash. Other then that is was a beautiful escape. Oh the parking lot is small and it comes up quick. So room for improvement but I still give it 5 stars

What an amazing hidden treasure. Lived here all my life and never knew this existed. Flora and fauna you cannot see anywhere else in central Illinois. Dress appropriately, shoes Jean's, etc. You'll go over and under some trees and cross a small stream a few times. Totally worth it!!

Brought a 5 year old kid after a rain. We made it to the bottom of the ravine but couldn't cross the creek and go further. We saw a Ring Neck Snake slither across the trail, which made our short hike worth it.

Amazing place to go for walk and look at the beautiful woods and wonderful rock wall formations of sandatone
