Chippers Restaurant

We had a lovely meal at Chipper's during our most recent trip to Maine. We called ahead to make a reservation, which is required. We tried to pop in last year and remembered how great the food smelled. Glad we made the point to go back. They are only open from Wednesday thru Saturday. Food was great. I had panko encrusted haddock and hubby loved his lobster Alfredo. Friendly service and cute atmosphere. Definitely worth the trip!

Everything was terrific here. The margarita was perfect, haddock chowder... WOW... salad with ranch... Just right and the steak and the potato was perfect. Can't wait to go back when we visit this area again.

Extremely nice and hard working waitress. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work, our waitress was very friendly and made it a personal experience discussing the different dishes. She was one of two waitresses and was constantly busy and moving. The food was EXCELLENT, the best meal I have had in a long time and the family thought so as well.

We split a filet mignon...it was perfection. The wee chowder was,as always,just wonderful...the salad...just right. It was a noisy night but...a happy noise. We love Chippers ❤

Best. Chowder. Ever. I have seriously never experienced a haddock chowder as amazing as Chip’s. It has won many awards and it is very easy to see why. Each meal comes with a sample of it, but I highly recommend upgrading it to a cup rather than a sample or you’ll regret it forever! I recently took some family here, who know great seafood, and their reaction to the entire meal was, “best seafood I’ve ever had!” Chippers is even catering my brother’s wedding. This food is the real deal. They are only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for dinner so make a reservations as fast as you can. You will not regret it!

Chippers is a sleeper— I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven past this place to go to Provender before stopping in to eat here.

So pleasantly surprised by each meal and dish I’ve had here. You can tell the chef/owner puts a lot of love into his food and uses fresh ingredients.

Their chowder, I must say, to reiterate everyone else’s statements is absolutely out of this world—-as in no other chowder competes, and I myself am incapable of making a chowder that delicious. It is heaven sent chowder from the chowder gods.

Warm homey atmosphere a bit upscale but casual and relaxed and the servers are all so attentive and sweet. They usually run mysteriously inexpensive drink specials and if you can get a seat at the bar, the bartender is fabulous

days and hours are limited and reservations are encouraged and currently at the time of writing their reservations are from 5-7pm only, so get there early and call to reserve seats— at the bar even.

After several years of driving by, I’m glad we finally made reservations. The food was fabulous and the service was lovely. We are going back again!

Definitely the best restaurant meal I've had in the area in the past several seasons. Seafood was excellent. Steak cooked to perfection. Excellent service which is tough to find in this area due to staff shortages outside the control of many restauranteurs. A quiet pleasant atmosphere and a terrific value.

My boyfriend and I were staying at an Airbnb close by and found this restaurant a few minutes away with great reviews. We stopped in and were informed it was reservations only, but they made an exception and sat us (which was awesome of them to do!)

AMAZING Haddock Chowder - probably the best thing I've had during our 4 day stay in the area and Bar Harbor included. They also serve you a generous dinner portion - complimentary bread, both soup and salad included with dinner, and the dinner itself was fantastic. If you're close by, definitely stop in for dinner just make sure to call ahead!

After spending the day in Acadia it was great to come upon this relaxing restaurant away from the crowds in Bar harbor. The food was very good. Service excellent. The price of the meal included soup, roll and salad. Well worth it. Plus we received a military discount. Thank you.

Really nice dining room and excellent food. Fine dining options downeast are somewhat limited outside of Bar Harbor, so this restaurant is much needed. The menu has a wide variety of options from filet medallions down to pub burgers. The haddock chowder is fabulous.

Filet mignon was supreme. Their signature haddock chowder is excellent. Wine list is extensive.

A little pricey but definitely worth it. The food was delicious! The haddock chowder was the best I ever had! All the dinners come with a sample cup but you're gunna want to upgrade that because you will be licking the cup clean, wishing you had more.

GREAT service. Timely send out of all dishes. Food was amazing and they had a nice variety on the menu. We had the crab cake mushrooms, snails, duck and pesto salmon and every bit of it was delicious. Good sized portions and great environment inside. Overall one of the best restaurants in the area. Definitely plan on going back and well recommend this place for all

Our bartender was awesome. Drinks and food were amazing! It's a little gem in Maine. This will always be my place to go when I'm up here. Definitely recommend coming here but make sure you make reservations. This place is very popular to the locals 😊

Hands down the best seafood restaurant in the Ellsworth area. If you don't have a bowl of their award-winning Haddock Chowder you're missing out. Everything on the menu is superb, but any seafood choice will be to your liking. The place itself is cozy and has a Maine-casual feel with a touch of elegance mixed in. During colder weather, wood fires warm and add charm in every dining area. Over the past two years I have enjoyed several visits with my wife and often with guests. I have never been disappointed in any way. I'll say it again - the Haddock Chowder is worth the trip.

Surprisingly good rib eye steak in an old school establishment. My wife enjoyed her lobster.
