Amboy Cottage Cafe

Okay I worked here up until recently so my opinion may be a little biased but this is my FAVORITE place. Looking to take mom out for breakfast, brunch or lunch? CALL to make reservations NOW. It is a small place with limited staff so it fills up fast and unfortunately people do get turned away. 😔 But if you've ever eaten here you'll understand why. Great place to work, great place to eat and spend time with those you love. I've added all the photos I could find from my 2 years here so keep in mind these go back to 2021. The second photo is the absolutely delicious Cinnamon Roll cake Lisa made for my surprise birthday party in '21. I could go on forever.

Great place!! It's very cozy and friendly! Pretty busy but well worth the wait. Call ahead, make a reservation for the next time I go and bring friends. The food was delicious. And of course i had to get pie - to go!! Enjoy

We heard good things about this little Cafe, so we stopped in for dinner this evening. The place has a quaint charm, very clean & "homey". We called earlier in the day for reservations, recommended as they have 7 tables that seat from 2 to 6 people. A wonderful menu is offered. I started with a cup of the Hungarian noodle soup. It was good. For dinner I ordered the coffee rubbed steak & baked potato, delicious! My wife ordered the harvest bowl & kettle chips. They accomodated her dinner for her vegan diet. She loved it! The service was excellent as well, friendly & helpful. Great food, wonderful service and comfortable ambiance (the classical music in the background was relaxing as well). I highly recommend this little gem in quaint Amboy.

This is a cute little cafe. You need to make reservations as it is fairly small, but don't let that turn you away. The food service and atmosphere are all very excellent!

We heard about this place and wanted to check this out! I was simply amazed to find this place in such a small town in Amboy, Minnesota! This is a must go to restaurant with a unique flavor and atmosphere. Reservations are required. Covid 19 practices a must. The food was simply amazing. Nothing fried here! All homemade! I highly recommend this place! If i could give it a higher than 5 stars, I would!! I had Olive Chicken Fettuccini along with Caramel Apple Bread Pudding. Great service and very clean and unique bathroom. Art is also for sale there.

Great place to stop at. Plan to take a little time here to enjoy the Scandinavian atmosphere. We were a group of six for breakfast and five had the Swedish pancakes. Everyone cleaned their plates. I had the Quiche and that was just the way I like it.

I was just traveling through and came across this cute little cafe. The owner was soo sweet and the food was delicious!

Really charming little place. Every plate and chair is different. But the food was just phenomenal. Breads and pies are homemade every day. My steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken salad was unique and crafted to have the most perfect texture. There's a surprisingly large menu, but just order off of the daily specials list. There's always something for everyone.

Stopped here while on a motorcycle ride and completely blown away by how good the burgers are. I had an amazing bison sweet pepper burger. The dessert was all homemade and generous portions. Can't wait to come back for more!

Really creative menu that mixes great flavors and interesting combinations. Food quality was excellent and the sever was sweet and attentive.

Absolutely delicious food in a very unique and cozy place! Real gem and unique experience if you're in the neighborhood. Reservations recommended, as it's quite small, but the food is worth it!

Love this place! It will remind you of your grandma's house!! Charming, small, quaint and cozy! We ate there on Mother's Day and the breakfast was delicious! If you're visiting the area, you have to experience it! But I suggest calling ahead to make sure you'll get a table as the seating is limited!

Our desserts were delicious as always. Our coffee cups were kept full and every wish was delivered with a smile. Lisa and her staff are beyond wonderful!

Lisa does a splendid job in the kitchen of providing high quality food and takes care to make sure ingredients are as locally and as responsibly as possible. Having been to the cottage cafe numerous times, I can't wait to go again- the Germania burger with freshly baked bread is delicious.

Simply charming atmosphere and delicious food . Pricing is remarkable. I didn’t have reservation but they seated me anyway. I’m so glad I rode through this town and ate lunch at Amboy Cottage Cafe. It’s worth going out of your way of traveling in this area.
