Eye Care On the Ridge- Dr. Shad Whealtey OD

Visiting family out of state and lost my contacts. Forgot to bring back ups and decided to come here to see if they could help. They were very helpful and friendly and got me fixed up no problem!

Great doctors. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They know what they are doing.

Dr. Erwin was amazing. She was patient and very kind with my son. I'd highly recommend her to any parent.

I've been there twice 2 years in a row, and received excellent care. I will continue using their service in years to come.
I also called in to Dr Whealty while they were closed due to pretty distressful eye issues, and he was able to look at a few pictures I sent, and call in a prescription for me the next morning. I really appreciated that.
I'd recommend this office to anyone looking for an eye doctor.

Awesome staff! Very thorough and thoughtful service. My 9 year old, who usually hates doctor's offices, actually enjoyed her exam and wanted to get glasses even though she didn't need them.

Kinda slow

I have been going to eye care on the ridge in Hillsville, VA for years without issues until recently. The dr’s are still great. However, the front office/receptionist/billing department have got my insurance information confused multiple times. This is my first ever bad review because I have been so infuriated with the inconsistencies in this business. I have had to make calls that they should have been making for me as their patient. I understand everyone makes mistakes but they have handled my situation very unprofessional. They delayed the process of me receiving my eye care products. After many years with this office, I have decided to find a new eye care provider. I hope they can hire new front desk and billing staff so their business can provide and thrive the way it use to.
