The Mason Jar

We found this place by Google maps. No problem getting to the restaurant using Google maps. Nine of us had dinner here. We came in late (9:20pm) on a Saturday night, as we were passing through on our way home from a basketball tournament. We were sat quickly and were waited on promptly. The atmosphere was great. There was a band playing wich added some entertainment. The waitress was friendly and took great care of us. The food was excellent and came out quickly and correct for all of us. I had the chicken wrap. Nice local restaurant. We will stop in again if we have a chance. We would recommend others stop in as well.

Located in a shopping center, restaurant/bar type setup. My wife and I visited in June 2024 while on a short getaway. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Larry was our waiter and was great. Very informative and attentive. Food was typical bar food kinda thing but was prepared well and as ordered. We went here specifically for cheeseburgers/American style food. Drink glasses never got below 1/2 full. Great job!!

Highly recommend if this is the type of food you’re looking for.

My boyfriend and I recently came to The Mason Jar for a delicious dinner and exceptional entertainment. From the menu, we ordered the catfish with loaded cheese fries and the crabcake with Mac & cheese and green beans. Everything was wonderful! The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the entertainment. The band, Eighth & Eleven rocked us while the food tamed us. We look forward to returning in the future!

The food is really good for the price! Cobb Salad and fish & chips are my favorite. There is no better atmosphere in all of Hillsville to sit near the bar and socialize with whoever is there. The pool tables are usually active and there is often live music. The bar staff are friendly and most have been there for quite some time. So stop by sometime and tell Jake, Destiny, Jenna, or Cagney that Jerry recommended this place (hopefully they don't kick you out).

Wife and I travel to VA quite a bit for family and needed a place halfway home to eat dinner. We decided to try this place out due to the great reviews and we’re so glad we did.

We order fried pickles everywhere and The Mason Jar had probably the best we’ve ever had. Wife ordered mussels for her appetizer and said it tasted great.

I ordered the Bourbon Burger and loved it, Wife ordered The Marylander sandwich and she said she could tell the crab meat was good quality and lots of it.

Service was fast and very welcoming, but we went at 11 in the morning in a Sunday so it wasn’t very full. I could see this place being very popular.

This is absolutely our new stop on our way home from VA to TN. Literally the only thing we didn’t care for was the sweet potato fries. They were just too sweet since they were covered in cinnamon and sugar. If that’s your thing you’d love ‘em. I’m sure there regular fries are great which is what we’ll order next time.

Traveling from PA to FL decided to stay the night. We chose The Mason Jar for dinner after reading reviews. It did not disappoint. Marissa was our server and she was great- gave samples of a beer to try- friendly and made sure we had whatever we needed. We had the Crab dip, Catfish, Fish and chips and Chicken fried chicken. Everything was delicious! Drinks were great also! We will def be back on future trips.

Stopped in for lunch today. Food was excellent and the staff was friendly. We got the chicken wings with Asian sauce for an appetizer, they were juicy but a little plain. We then shared a Ribeye and added a crab cake with loaded potato and fresh zucchini & squash. The entree items items were all cooked to perfection, and the presentation was very nice too. The baked potato had cheese, bacon, and chives added and melted cheese in oven...soooo good!
The crab cake was juicy and flavorful with very little to no filler:)

Enjoyed the fried shrimp basket, the service is exceptional and you are made to feel like family. Delicious!

While visiting the area, we decided to try The Mason Jar for an early dinner. The location was easy to find in Google Maps. We were able to be seated right away and we received our orders quickly and at the same time. Food was delicious and service was amazing. Great job on taking care of the customer.

Excellent food, drink and service. The bartender, Will greeted everyone with a smile and made you feel welcomed and that he was happy to see you. First time there and won't be out last. The catfish was delish!

The chicken and waffles 😋 So yummy. The cooked to perfection, moist, tender chicken breast inside a thick crispy crunchy crust was drizzled with the just the right amount of maple syrup. Then underneath two waffles that were interestingly cooked crunchy as well. I usually prefer my waffles soft but these almost had a candy crunch outside with a fluffy soft interior. They held up well to the syrup and butter. Huge portion as well, had to take half home to eat for breakfast. Service was great. Our waitress kept the drinks filled. I liked this place and will definitely try again on passing through. I'd even make it destination for a day trip and explore the town around it.

The food and service here are worth a visit. The atmosphere is very casual.

THE go to bar in Hillsville VA. Great staff and high energy bartenders. Food is always on point, so going to the dining room (super family friendly) for dinner or lunch is recommended as well. Different specials every week so go check them out and try something new 💯

The Rabbit sauce with the crisp and delicious wings is a winner. I just happened to stumble upon this place while driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff and locals were extremely funny and welcoming to a random guy from Chicago (me). Good place and good people.

Went here for lunch on a weekday. We were seated promptly. Our waiter was very nice and quick to refill our drinks.
Our food was warm and it tasted good.

The food and drinks are consistently good (although sad about them no longer offering coke products) and we love the bartenders.
The bar has a great vibe with comfortable seating and pool tables. But skip Thursday’s if you don’t want the loudest speakers aimed directly at you on, pumped up to 11 during karaoke night lol

This was our second time at Mason jar on our way home from Florida to Ontario, Canada.
Always good homemade food and service is always excellent. Sure beats all the chain restaurants we had eaten at on our way up.

Looking for a place to eat for dinner while visiting the area. This place had great reviews so we decided to check it out and The Mason Jar did not disappoint. Adrian was fantastic as our bartender and our food was delicious! Glad we found a friendly hometown place to come to when we visit.

We are on the road ahead stopped at the Red Roof Inn in Hillsville, VA. Google led is too this restaurant and we loved it!!! There is a sports bar with TV screens but it is separate from the restaurant. What a great find!!
