Mermaid Cottage

I have stayed with Mermaid Cottages several times. The service they provide is top notch. This trip I stayed at Fun in the Sun for a month. (My second time at this cottage) I can always count on the mermaids to take care of things. Tammy and Diane checked in on me and answered any questions I had. They really are the sweetest people. I did have an ice maker problem and they had it handled immediately. The guy who fixed it was very nice also. I can not imagine renting from anyone else. The house was clean, comfortable and allowed me to have my two little yorkies there also. Thanks to the mermaids, I had no worries and an incredible time. I had family and friends come in and enjoy the beach and all that Tybee and Savannah have to offer. Love my Tybee time when the mermaids are handling business!!

Booked with Mermaid Cottages for a Tybee Island girls reunion after looking for available rental cottages in the area. I am so glad I selected them. Wonderful customer service from booking throughout our stay. Our cottage was cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend them and look forward to booking again the next visit. Pictured is Nora’s Cottage. Perfect little spot in short distance to all points of interest on the island. A short drive to/from Savannah.

I have traveled to Tybee three summers in a row and have stayed in 3 different cottages managed by the mermaids. Fish Camp, Clam digger, and this year Madelyn’s on the Marsh. All three houses are in different budgets and all three were wonderful. I love contactless check in and out. I appreciate the check in they give once we’ve settled in and they have always been quick to help on the rare occasion I needed anything. We hope to continue to come back every summer.

Our long awaited first trip to Tybee! From the start of our reservation and all the way through checking out after a great stay in April 2021, the mermaids provided exceptional service. Our cottage was just as described and all questions answered and they checked in with us during the stay. They communicated quickly and even gave us plenty of information to enjoy our stay. We have stayed many places and hands down, best service ever. Great family memories made even better by the Mermaids!

My family and I have been to Tybee Island 4 times and we have stayed with the Mermaid Cottage Rentals all 4 times. We were hooked after the first stay! The cottages are so precious and cozy. I feel so at home! The ladies are SO helpful! We met Alfie who came to check and make sure everything was ok . She was incredibly helpful and kind. We also had a question about the best place for oysters and Diane hooked us up!!! We love this company!!! They feel like old friends! I wouldn't want to rent from anyone else!!!!! We LOVE them!!

LOVE THIS PLACE! We always go for a visit to visit when we go to Savannah. I have mugs, necklaces, platters and earrings. All beautiful pieces that last. A must, if you want great items!

This place is adorable. We loved staying here and plan to come back! Clean, spacious and close to the beach!

I would give a "zero" rating if possible. My experience with the cottage we rented for 10 days on Tybee Island was utterly unacceptable. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a filthy and foul-smelling house. We contacted Tammy to report the condition and requested a waiver or reduction of the cleaning fee. Her response offered no apology and insisting on the full payment.

I choose not to disclose the specific property, recognizing that many families, including the elderly, rely on Mermaid Cottages for responsible property management. While the property itself had potential, it's clear that it suffers from severe neglect under Mermaid's management. I refrain from blaming the homeowners directly, as they may be unaware of the poor state of their property.

It is reprehensible for a business to exploit its customers by demanding a full cleaning fee for a service clearly not rendered and to jeopardize their clients' properties through such gross mismanagement. This situation is not only a disservice to customers but also an unethical exploitation of property owners.

We stayed at Whispering Palms that was owned or managed by Mermaid Cottages. This home was nothing that we thought. It is a very smelly, old home with old furniture and beds. We were very dissatisfied! The house smelled very bad and we were harassed by the people from Mermaid Cottages ever day that we were there. Pool is very small and was dirty and full of leaves when we arrived. All Balconies were dirty and full of leaves also. All furniture on the balconies were dirty! I do not suggest that you stay at this rental. I will never do business with this company again!
