I am a long term resident of Savannah, a senior citizen and a Marine Corps Veteran. I want to sincerely thank Ms. Lynn at the Tybee Island, Parking Office for providing me information concerning the island's vehicle parking procedures. She was extremely helpful and patient and explained thoroughly the process for obtaining an annual parking decal. Contrary to the negative reviews I have read on-line, Ms. Lynn exemplified the true southern Savannah hospitality that the low-country is known for. She practices patience and understanding which are the key ingredients to civil conversation. She is a true professional and provides excellent customer service. Thank you!

Most people going to City Hall are paying a parking ticket. The folks working there are friendly if you are. They don't make the rules. No need to make it more unpleasant. Remember, there is no free parking on Tybee!

Mrs. Anderson helped me log online to pay a traffic citation. Very kind lady who saved me a trip to tybee during the work week.

Old & tired little town. older beach towns can look worn but have a charm to them this is DIRTY & there is no excuse 4 that. We left quickly Public restrooms were dirty the streets stained & cracked ... it's time for a big remodel & spruce up We won't b back!

I have always loved coming to Tybee (for about 30 years). Tonight solidified why I will never return. Photos attached.

While I LOVE nothing more than young people enjoying fun in the sun. I realized, this once quaint beach I could get to In less than 5 hours and my body type was not unusual, has become way worse than PCB where we use to go and party our butts off, by 1000%. We may have been mistaken but Panama City Beach during spring break and in the summer seemed more attractive to younger people than it did to families. I had always felt that Tybee was the opposite.

This is the second time I visited Tybee (letting bygones from our last- not so good experience which was similar but less intense, be bygones).

My son and I, while amazed and in awe, did not enjoy the display outside our oceanfront (premium $$) hotel room. The twerking classes/competitions where valuable.

The police officers clearly did as much as they could to help clear the noise and crowd issues.

I will never be back. Thanks for the previous 29 great years and memories Tybee.

I love going to tybee island. We usually get golf carts to avoid paying for parking, however we did not have them for the first day of our trip this year, so we had to pay for parking at the beach. I paid $21 for parking that day but when I came back to my vehicle I noticed a $75 ticket even though I had paid. I was cited for parking in a spot that had a yellow curb. There weren’t any “no parking” signs anywhere, and the road (on 10th street) was very wore and tore up. To me it looked like a regular parking space. ( I will include a picture.) I had no clue that a yellow curb meant no parking and even if it did the paint was so worn that you could hardly tell. I was very disappointed that I got a parking ticket so I went to parking services and tried to at least get the $20 I had paid for parking that day took off as this was an honest mistake. (I think her name is Lynn), the director of parking services was very rude and annoyed when I came in to talk to her about this and explain the situation on phone and in person. She was very condescending and made many smart remarks to me as I tried to explain the situation. When I asked her if she could take the $20 I had paid for parking that day off the ticket she told me no and that I would need to dispute it with my bank to get it back. I would think that since I tried to do the right thing and pay for parking she would at least have mercy on me, but I was incorrect and felt highly disrespected by the manner in which she conducted herself! This is the only bad experience I have ever had with tybee island and the only thing that would make me not want to visit anymore!

This place is awful. Had to pay for parking to pay a parking ticket. Everywhere you go there are parking meters. Not a hospitable place for tourists. Most of what’s on the island consists of tacky beach stores and restaurants with bar food and… you have to pay for parking to go to them! I will never come back here and will NEVER recommend it to anyone else.

Tybee Island has upped their parking prices ($3.50 an hour!!) so now residents can't afford to go to the beach. My husband and I found this out the hard way. We paid though. Filled out the app and hit submit. Of course the app glitched and we were hit with a fine. When we called to dispute they told us "oh well". We got home and life threw us a curve ball and we forgot to pay the scam fine. Now we have additional fees on top of the fine and threats of being subpeonad. It was so nice getting that letter the day after my miscarriage. Thanks for the memories Tybee, we won't be coming back.

Tybee island is a tourist trap and I'll never be back. Received a $47 parking fine for not displaying the receipt while eating breakfast, so it's clearly just a way for them to shake down the tourists. We live in a resort community and they never treat people this way, locals or tourists. It's the first and last $47 we'll be spending in Tybee.

Lynn Davis, Tybee Island parking services supervisor, is rude, unprofessional, and condescending. She refused to take the time to provide basic information, and appeared to be annoyed by the fact that I was calling with questions. Tourism is the lifeblood of Tybee Island. If this employees demeanor is any indicator of how Tybee treats and values tourist, I would recommend spending your vacation dollars elsewhere.

THANK YOU for TOTAL PAYMENT DISCRIMINATION across island parking. Not only have you REMOVED ALL of the COIN METERS, but you also left COUNTLESS SHARP 3FT STICKS of STEEL sticking out of the ground where they once provided excellent, reliable, electricity-free, and internet-free revenue collection.

You care so much about your island that we can't even smoke on the beach anymore, out-of-doors in the Land of the Free, and now you've taken away our right to pay with the coin of our country as well.

Bravo.

UPDATE: Digital meters end transactions automatically while continuously dropping coins into the slot... PAYMENT DISCRIMINATION.

Unholy garbage.

Enjoys working hand in hand with parking services to extort as many tourists as possible. Will wait by your car for parking to expire and will give you a ticket the second it does. None of their apps work, half the kiosks to pay don’t work, no one answers their phones. But they are very organized when it comes to sending people parking tickets. Lynn Davis with parking services was nice, not but helpful whatsoever. Basically said if their was an issue in their end (there was, just listen to the laundry list of issues the list in their voicemail) then I’m still responsible for the ticket because they can’t prove that I paid the right way. I thought the saying was innocent until proven guilty? Extortionists, this is why there’s friction between the police and the public. Who are you helping and protecting with excessive parking tickets? No one but yourself.
