Pontotoc City Park Caretaker

Very nice park for a family. Not only is it a park, but they also allow comping with spacious lots. They also have multiple fishing peers, picnic tables,grills, play ground, a little water area for children to play in. A small restroom with no showers .Swings to sit in that over looks the lake. All these amenities are free even if you do not camp. There are no entrance fees. Very well kept park for your enjoyment

Howard Stafford is a very nice city park with about 15 campsites. There is a large playground along with some rather large picnic pavilion areas. The pavilions can be reserved for parties as we witnessed some locals having a birthday party for someone today.

The campground sits atop a hill and overlooks a lake. It is a very picturesque setting. Azaleas abound everywhere, and they were in full bloom during our visit in early April. Jawdropping beautiful variety of colors.

Grills on each site along with a fire pit. Conveniently trash cans at located on each site. Two bathhouse located on site.

The rates for this place are very reasonable.

Some downsides: The sites are not well maintained. I picked up at least 40 or 50 cigarette butts and a host of other pieces of trash on our site. Many of the sites are not even close to being level. The levers on our motorhome picked the front tires off the ground in an attempt to self level. I finally drove the front tires up on some wood blocks and re-leveled to keep the wheels grounded. I saw a bumper pull camper that had four 4x4 blocks under the rear stablizer jacks. Lastly, some of the sites can be hard to back into due to the road being narrow and cars parking on the street.

Oh, the water pressure is very high. Make sure you have a pressure reducing valve to prevent damage to your water lines. Personally, this is something that should always be in line with your water supply.

Note: When you pull in, you have a choice of turning right and taking a tour down by the lake before returning to the campground, or going straight, then turning right into the campground loop. Go straight. There are a lot of low hanging limbs that I snagged taking the outside loop. The outside loop looks correct because that is where the checkin station is located. Don't do it. Our motorhome tops out at 12 ft and 3 inches. The rooftop hit a lot of limbs on that loop.

But, these negative comments are not showstoppers for us. I would recommend this campground to anyone passing through. It is beautiful and harkens back to a time when families got together and went camping for the summer. It is very quiet here at night.

My daughter and I stayed there for about 2 months . Very open very clean very friendly environment. The folks that run the place are great the lady very down to earth very pleasurable to deal with very helpful. The amenities here are nice plenty to do for young kids if you want them off the electronics for a bit . I like the idea at the end of the day the gates are locked at 8pm-5am. Very great place to stay .

Very nice. Quite and relaxing. The care taker is really nice and very helpful. Sites are pretty level. And clean.

Pontotoc Park aka Howard Stafford Park is a wonderful place to visit, especially at sunrise! The caretaker does an excellent job keeping it beautiful and safe. Thank you Ms. Bobby for everything you do! I just wish I could work there with you.

Good place for a cook out, kids love it..

This park is awesome. Multiple playground areas. Basketball ball court. Volleyball area. Fishing. Bathrooms. Great view of water. Splash pad. Piers to walk out on. Walking trails. Multiple Pavilions and picnic tables for bday parties. Usually packed on the weekends but not crowded. Great place to take the family. My kids love it. A lot of room to run around.

Small gathering with very good friends, had a great time. Kids played on the splash pad, we rested under the pavilion with a light breeze blowing. Great Day!!

I went to to let my furry baby run around while I ate my dinner at the picnic table area. Very clean, quiet and overall nice place.

We were just passing through and found this beautiful park. Convenient to Natchez trace Parkway. Nice level pads with full hook ups. Campground host was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very clean and pet friendly as well as close to town; which is a plus! I'd definitely come back whenever I get time off again. One more thing for the ones who enjoy 🦦 - the lake is well stocked...Thanks to the entire staff!!

This is a beautiful, quiet little park that is one of Pontotoc's hidden treasures! They have a nice playground for the kiddies and even have two sprinkler areas for the kids to cool off. Lots of shade, places to picnic and nice pavilions. I have taken my grand daughter there to play several times and she love it.

The park is well maintained and seems to be a safe area to take little ones. It is also not far from stores if you are camping there. I haven't camped there yet, but I am looking for a camper so I can.

Been staying here for over a month now and it is absolutely beautiful in the mornings and when the sun sets in the evening. The staff are super friendly and easy-going they always keep the park clean just a great place to stay and the price is awesome. I highly recommend

Nice clean place to camp,fish or just have a family day. Park care taker is one of thw most friendliest people i have meer. She keep the feouns so nice and keep the rif raf out.

Has more than just ur averageplaygrounds. Has 2 different play areas for the kids a Basket ball court and a Splash Plad only open for Summer though. U can gone fishing,cook out grills are provided have your child(ren) birthdays R.S.V.P reccomend. I even see couples have there wedding here. Its definitely a view to see and very much enjoy. Bridges that u can walk along on that go out into the lake. A boating ramp ap u n the family can enjoy a ride out on the water. But there's No Swimming allowed unfortunately. That's why the splash pads are available for.. its definitely a great place for families to spend time together for any and every occasion u can possibly think of..

Just a nice place to visit. That's all I have done. It is very clean
