If you have a child that serious about karate.. this is the place to be, they are flexible to work with.. they offer private lessons. They take the time with your child to really show them how to learn the skills for karate.. They don't rush, which I really like. They really do want to make sure your kid is getting all he/she can out of their lessons. They teach life lessons they can use daily along with karate. I like that they are staffed well, their is always 3 to 4 instructors/helpers in a class that focus on helping and watching all the students to make sure they are learning the moves correctly. They are also very encouraging, super friendly and knowledgeable.

My grandson had been taking martial arts at LifeSKILLZ Ultimate Martial Arts for around nine years. It is truly amazing how much he has improved over the years. His teachers are strict and demand more from him as his belt rank progresses, which improves him. LifeSKILLZ has taught my grandson not only how to defend himself, but has also taught him discipline. He now trains everyday for at least a half an hour. Thank you LifeSKILLZ!!!

My 13 year old daughter has been attending LifeSKILLZ Ultimate Martial Arts since May 2021. If competition Martial Arts is what you seek, this is not the place for you. LifeSKILLZ teaches just what their name entails. They teach Kempo Karate, which teaches self-defense, and what a student needs to do to protect themselves. From the very first time I brought my daughter to LifeSKILLZ, and before I even signed her up, she was taught how to get out of a wrist grab by Ms. Jamie! I was so impressed with this and how great Ms. Jamie was with her, I felt confident that this was the place for her! To make the experience even better, LifeSKILLZ offers an introductory 6 week session with a great price! This gave my daughter the opportunity to know if Martial Arts was something that she would enjoy and make a commitment to. She learned so much in that time period and the the instructors were so good with her. They are very knowledgeable and patient in showing each student how to get out of different holds and teach self-defense skills. Best part?! She absolutely loved it! It is hard to keep a child that experiences ADHD interested in anything for a long period of time. My daughter did so well and enjoyed the classes so much, I signed her up with a 2 year contract. So worth it! They gave me a great discount with the 2 year commitment, including $50 off her sparring gear. Master Scott and Sensei John Scott, as well as the Student Instructors, are very patient and knowledgeable with their instruction, and explain everything step by step, including situations where each move will be helpful. They take the time with each student to explain each move and how to do it properly. Master Scott also offers other classes periodically, such as Parkour, Sparring, and individual Weapons, to name a few. Master Scott has taught his students that even with the best honed self-defense skills, at times it is best to be able to get away from a situation as fast as possible. This is where I feel my daughter learning Parkour is invaluable. Also, I truly respect Master Scott for not just allowing a student to progress to belt test when they are not ready to move to their next belt. My daughter is now a Red Belt with Black Stripe. She is one belt away from a Black Belt. She is also on the STORM Team. During previous session, my daughter had missed several classes due to sickness, as well as, not being as focused in practicing. Master Scott recognized she was not ready to test. He was able to explain this to her in such a way she understood and it did not bring her down or make her doubt herself. She has worked hard this time around and has been more focused. We are hoping Master Scott will agree she will be ready to test in a couple of weeks. Since my daughter began LifeSKILLZ Ultimate Martial Arts, she has gained self-esteem and self-confidence. She has learned through hard work and practice, she can accomplish anything she sets her mind too. In this day and age, I feel it is so much more important for a child and/or adult, to be able to defend themselves against an attacker than to win a trophy. To be able to have the self-defense skills, the LIFE skills to protect themselves, is PRICELESS. The owner is an incredible martial artist. He knows self defense and is not a joke. The staff are very good at what they do as well.They are very friendly and approachable to children, and definitely don’t lack self defense skills. You can easily tell how well trained the teachers are at martial arts, and at teaching the students. They are professionally trained by a professional martial artist.

My son and daughter have been students here for 5-6 years. The core purpose has always been self defense but there are many other benefits as well. They have learned discipline and focus, which extends into their academic and extracurricular activities. I have also been pleased to see the confidence it has built in them. The instructor/owner is passionate about martial arts and teaching. He is able to work with individuals of different ages and abilities--encouraging and pushing them to reach their personal potential. He is very observant and will work tirelessly to help a student master a maneuver. Although he commands respect, he is approachable and personable. It is truly remarkable that we have a martial arts studio of this caliber in our community.

Two of my sons (ages 8 and 5) take Martial Arts classes at LifeSKILLZ and have been doing so since they were age 4. The boys love Karate and Parkour. They are learning great ethics and discipline, they are getting great exercise and gaining strength, and they have made great friends. Oh, and they are learning great techniques in order to defend themselves and those around them. Master Scott is a wonderful instructor, and he is also training up a great group of assistant instructors. I could not be more excited to have my sons be part of a program that is training them with the SKILLZ they need for Life!

An excellent instructor running an excellent martial arts school. Professional training along with private lessons and more. As a 3rd degree black belt, I consider this as an excellent place to learn self defense.

Seems to be all about the money at the school.
