The history of Shamrock is fascinating and very well presented. From Senior photographs of the school to the Main Street businesses at the peak of the oil boom. The rock frames of the car dealership and school gym still stands. Also still in tact is the old bank vault minus the hole in the back where one of the Oklahoma outlaws broke through and got away with the loot. You will also see a fantastic display of prehistoric fossils and Indian artifacts that you won't find anywhere else. Open on Saturdays from 10 A.M. 'till 4 P.M. and IT'S FREE!

Learned alot about the town from the man running the museum, including getting to see fossilized human remains.

Only gave 3 ☆'s because place was closed so only saw outside area. But interesting looking enough to possibly make a special trip to see! Sign by door says " Free " Saturdays 10a-4p

Cushing is a city in Payne County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 7,826 at the time of the 2010 census, a decline of 6.5% since 8,371 in 2000. Cushing was established after the Land Run of 1891 by William "Billy Rae" Little. It was named for Marshall Cushing, private secretary to U.S. Postmaster General John Wanamaker. source
