Doctor Schafer is an excellent physician. He has taken care of my
Health for about ten years. I know when he tells me something about my health it's right. I highly recommend Homestead Medical.

Dr. Schafer and his team have taken diligent and small-town friendly care of me. New to the area I was welcomed and am cared for. Dr. Schafer has a pleasing bed-side manner. He is easy to speak with and comfortable about it.
Thank You Dr. Schafer and Team!

I had to wait, but, Dr. Schafer has
good bed side manners. Felt very comfortable talking with him and his office was friendly as well. Was worth the wait. He is a very nice man.

I have waited to post this review until Dr. Morgan had left and I never had to deal with anyone at Homestead again but this didn’t happen too long ago and I’m only writing this because it bothers me that Dr. Schafer is still treating patients.

I came to Homestead when Dr. Smith left Bristow and began seeing Dr. Morgan because I knew I didn’t want to see Dr. Schafer solely due to the fact that I’d heard that he’s who you see if you’re just wanting to get high. Dr. Morgan turned out to be incredible but due to a medication I take, I had to come in every month for an appointment and there was one time Dr. Morgan wasn’t there so I saw Dr. Schafer.

He immediately accused me of using the stimulant medication I’m on (and had been on for quite some time) as a “crutch” (for what, I’m not sure). I told him that the reason I was on it in the first place was due to multiple doctors suspecting narcolepsy and that I was literally just trying to make it until I could do the sleep study. He then informed me that I can do it at home and they can give me the testing equipment (something I knew to be false as testing for narcolepsy requires, among other things, EEG recordings to be done during sleep and you can’t do that at home). I realized, with a strange sense of horror, that he somehow didn’t know the difference between a sleep study for sleep apnea and one for narcolepsy. I couldn’t bear to say anything that would contradict him because I think I felt badly for him?

He agreed to call in my medication, though (I don’t know if me agreeing to do a pointless test that only ruled out a condition I was never suspected of having convinced him that I was somehow “worthy” of it or what) but once I got the medication, I found he had UPPED the dose without me ever even indicating I wanted or needed that!

When I still saw Dr. Morgan there, we always had to wait 1-2+ hours past our appointment time and now that I’m seeing Dr. Morgan in Tulsa, that’s never been an issue.

Having lupus means that I’ve had to see many different doctors for a 25 year old but I’ve never dealt with anything like this. I’d make the trip in to Tulsa if you can because Dr. Schafer may well be dangerous.

This doctor through my wife and me out of his office because he accused her of having medication in her urine that he didn't prescribe, later on his nurse showed him that he did prescribe at medication. He threw us out of his office and told us to go find a different doctor he was rude he screamed and he hollered like a little child. he got upset when I asked him if he had any concerns about her weight, she was losing it drastically and he claimed no I do not care about her weight loss.
he treated my wife terribly and there was no reason for it the only thing that we could think of is he did not want us, Hispanic people, in his office.
It was so terrible we had to turn him in to the board of DO doctors in Oklahoma City. the wait time is horrendous, he feels his office up with so many people he can't get to all of them in the same day.
After speaking to other well-known doctors in the community, they understood and told us that's the way he has is bedside manner is terrible. He was extremely rude and if you're reading this and have any concerned about yourself, don't go to him.

Horrible doctor. Berates you and looks down on you.
Didn't treat my back, just said he had back problems too. Thank God i got his PA who sent me immediately to a back doctor. I had a blown disc and could barely walk. Schafer watched me struggle like I was a side show, for MONTHS!

If you go to this clinic..expect at least a two hour wait.. people are herded in here like cattle.. not to mention this is one of the biggest prescription writing dr ive ever known of..people come from all around to get narcotics. . bad thing is he prescribes to all the meth heads in town ..but a person that really needs pain meds. .he just dont want to be bothered with..also dont expect any dictation of what he has told you to be in your records
