We had a lovely time at Dawn's place. She is a wonderful host and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in the Purple Room and loved it. The house is cute and old with tons of character. We were served one of the best breakfasts I've ever had that kept us full for a whole day of hiking and adventuring. Dawn took the time from hosting to talk to us in the morning and we instantly felt like she was a friend. I highly recommend her place if you are in the area, there is so much to do around there and Thomas is a fun little town.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dawn's place over Memorial Day weekend and she was wonderful! We stayed in the red primrose room and it was super cute and comfy. The bathroom was very clean. Dawn was very accommodating and helpful. It was very rainy that weekend and she had extra jackets for us to borrow, which was so sweet of her. My boyfriend has a gluten allergy and she had no trouble making delicious food for him. She always had extra muffins made up for us and cookies in the afternoon. She's a damn good cook and baker! You're definitely not going to need to bother with lunch. The breakfasts were amazing!!! We couldn't have been happier with our stay and I would highly recommend this place to others.

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Mountain Primrose and had such a wonderful time there. We stayed in the Red Primrose room, and it was very comfortable and clean, not to mention unique and fun!
Dawn was so kind, and we really enjoyed talking with her over breakfast and learning about the building's history! Speaking of breakfast, HOLY SMOKES. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful both mornings, there were cookies/brownies/tea for snacking, and water bottles were provided if you decided to hike any of the beautiful trails nearby. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and would come back again in a heartbeat for the wonderful views, food, and company. Thank you, Dawn!

Dawn is an amazing host, cook, and person. My fiancé and I enjoyed our 3 night stay so much that we plan on coming back to Thomas and the Primrose. The room and the bathroom were sparkling clean.

Dawn accommodated to our dietary restrictions to perfection. The food was top notch and kept us fueled during our long days. The breakfast spread is unbelievable! Dawn was even so gracious as to pack our leftovers from breakfast so we could enjoy them on our hike. Expect homemade cookies, muffins, and treats throughout your stay as well.

The towns of Thomas and Davis are complete hidden gems. If you’re ever even remotely in the area I recommend staying at the Mountain Primrose. The food alone was some of the best cooking I’ve ever had.

I cannot say enough great things about this experience.

This has to be the best bed + breakfast I have stayed in for quite some time. Dawn was a fantastic host and fantastic cook. Ask for the pumpkin pancakes! The house is in a great location; it is within walking distance of Thomas' galleries and the Purple Fiddle and a 5 minute drive to Davis. We stayed for 2 nights to do some hiking in the area and she also helped with directions and trail recommendations. Top notch!

Dawn, our hostess, made us feel right at home. The homemade breakfast and baked goods were amazing. When we left we didn't leave hungry. The blue room we stayed in was very clean and cozy as well as the rest of the home. Thank you Dawn for making our stay enjoyable!! We would highly recommend this B&B if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Thomas, West Virginia.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast. This was my fifth one that I had stayed at personally.

Dawn was very informative when we first arrived. She went through the history of the house a bit, where things were located and what we had access to. She setup a time to eat as well. (None of the ones I stayed at in the past had a specific time you could pick in the morning to be served breakfast.)

The breakfast meals were better than anything I could ever cook, even if I really tried. It was incredible. Don't worry about lunch for the day either if you're staying, you'll be set until dinner. Dawn won't let you go off about your day hungry, that's for sure. Honestly, I forgot what it was like to have someone fix me breakfast in the morning. Smelling the bacon all the way upstairs to my room, brought back memories.

The shower water was hot enough so no complaints there. The room was cozy. Also a nice touch having the option for tea in the room. Never even had the energy to turn the TV on from all the hiking we did.

If we come back to the area we'll definitely have to visit. Hoping to be able to stay longer because three days is no where near enough to enjoy such a beautiful state.

Thank you for such a wonderful accommodation!

This is a great little slice of Almost Heaven! We arrived on a snowy day and were relieved to see the stairs to the entrance were heated. Once inside, we were greeted with homemade baked goods, coffee, tea, wine, and anything else that we needed. The accommodations were great, everything was clean, and the conversation with the owner was fantastic. My personal favorite was the breakfast: Everything was homemade and we were given a baked goods bag when we departed. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Our one night stay in Thomas exceeded our expectations and was capped off by a delicious breakfast. Dawn was a very welcoming host and we enjoyed learning from her about the coal industry origins of the house. We appreciated being able to easily walk along the riverfront stores and having a porch to sit on as the sun set.

This lovely bed and breakfast is exactly as described on its website. Dawn and her mother are congenial hotesses, the rooms and public areas are comfortable and nicely appointed, and the kitchen produces sumptuous and varied breakfasts and snacks that just can't be beat. We really enjoyed our stay.

Best bed and breakfast experience. The owner, Dawn, was wonderful. The house is amazing and has so much character. Breakfast was excellent, and we left with a snack bag each day! She also gifted me a book that I started while there. We are already looking forward to our next trip!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Primrose this summer, for a short getaway to the mountains of Thomas. My girlfriend is a vegan, and wanted to be sure where we stayed could accommodate her diet. Anyone familiar with a vegan diet has likely had an issue with facilities being rude about accommodating that diet

The Primrose was more than kind, baking and cooking delicious vegan foods that rivaled any eatery.

The rooms were large, historic and quaint, and you got the feeling of being at an isolated retreat but having the Thomas neighborhood down the street.

The owner is kind and eccentric, and the primrose is an ideal place for a great weekend getaway.

We just came back from our second stay here. The owner is incredibly gracious and accommodating of dietary needs/preferences. She has gluten free baked good waiting for us on both visits and the homemade breakfast is to die for!!! We awoke to the smells of muffins and pancakes. We seriously dream about this place until we plan our next visit. The location is also great as it's within walking distance to coffee shops and boutiques.

WHAT A FIND!!!! From the minute we arrived, we fell totally in love with this gorgeous bed and breakfast. Dawn and her Mom Thelma are welcoming, delightful, and made us feel completely at home. This bed and breakfast is located in a lovely spot in Thomas, WV, and is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and provides every amenity anyone would need. And THE FOOD! There are delicious baked goodies and fruit always available. AND the breakfast! We awoke to the most delicious aromas, and were treated to a breakfast of sausage and egg strata/quiche, cinnamon raisin french toast, fried potatoes, bacon and raspberry muffins - what a feast! Mountain Primrose Bed and Breakfast is a GEM!

The house was beautiful and truly felt to be our home during our stay there. Dawn is extremely warm and welcoming and makes an amazing breakfast. I would add more stars than the five I gave if I could.

We most difinitely did not mean to leave a 1 star! My sincere apologies. We were trying to post the review on our way home and were unsuccessful; it seems the system decided to leave a blank 1-star review.

We loved staying here and both agree that the friendliness and the quality of food were amazing, better than any other bed and breakfast we have stayed at. The breakfast was also very filling and the to-go bags meant we didn't even need to bother getting lunch. We hope to return in the future. Thank you for making our stay special.
