McCarry's Dairyland

McCarrys has drive up and walk up service. They have Only 8 frozen yogurt which is advertised as heart healthy. They do not have non dairy which is a bummer. They offer a large variety of ice cream and snacks. Their ice cream is great. Don’t know why but it is absolutely delicious. My favorites are chocolate ice cream or shake but the turtle sundae is nothing to ignore. Their crushed ice is legendary. Their soda is the best. My favorite with the soda is a burrito. The burrito is a frozen one that is heated in a toaster oven and placed over in aluminum foil. Only once was it cold on the inside. I reported it but think it was an unusual situation. I’ve often wished they’d give sour cream and salsa with it. Another great snack option is a soft pretzel which can come with nacho cheese. Their nachos, plain and loaded are good. All of these blend well with aforementioned crushed ice large cokes. When I want to be slightly healthier I order the chicken salad with lettuce and ice water which the crushed ice makes great. The only downside is their goodness is understood by many so there’s always a long line for drive up. Often walk up is better, but on a late warm summer night just stand in line and visit friends. Warms my heart to think of Mccarys deliciousness and kind staff. Enjoy

Amazing staff great selection and the ice cream is soo good

This place is like a small town gem. My whole family enjoys their treats! If you like mountain dew, ask for the Kyle Special!!

Great owners, great employees, great ice cream, great food, and great drinks! I always love going in the summer.
They only accept cash or check (Update 2023: No longer true- they accept card now!) and usually have a long line, which just shows how great the ice cream is. Couldn't ask for a better ice cream shop in Jerseyville!

They have a huge variety of awesome treats. It’s VERY popular.

Pros: Great prices, great ice cream and some food options, a ton of options, and the staff has always been friendly — I definitely recommend 10/10! Never disliked anything I’ve gotten.

Minor cons: long lines (to be expected because it’s yummy) and Cash only! (Not a big deal but sucks when you want it and only have a card! Haha)

Cash only, but everything is priced lower than expected. The high quality is only achievable for a small town place like this. Miles better than other places.

The best in the entire United States, as far as I am concerned. The sprinkle cone is and will always be my favorite. I wish they would franchise and bring one to DFW Texas. :)

Great place to stop for a treat! Vast selection of flavors and toppings. Also had small hot snacks available for a quick lunch. Small business, no inside seating. Outside seating of tables and umbrellas. Employees were very friendly, even to the kids. Great value, amazingly low prices. Also has a drive-thru.

Great shakes, malts and sundaes of all kinds. The kids love the chili dogs, nachos and bosco sticks. Oh and let's not forget the Kyle special.
