Cyclone Lodge

Manager changed locks on my rooms while I was working out of town. and kept my stuff claiming I owed past rent, but never produced a bill. local police did nothing of course and I never got my belongings back.

Stumbled on the Cyclone Lodge by accident, it was a little off our our scheduled route but our usual stay over spots were sold out. What a pleasant surprise!! The room was large, clean and recently remodeled. Staff was friendly and helpful and our accommodations could not have been better. Well worth the slight detour off of interstate 80!

This is a very clean and welcoming type of place. The staff is great. The value for type of hotel is the best you will find anywhere around. It has secured entry to building, the rooms are large, and each room is equipted with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee. Next best thing to being home. Highly recommended.

I have been here for about a month now and this hotel is by far my favorite, and that goes for ANYWHERE or ANY of the 50 states. The doors are locked day and night, so it is super secure. The rooms are spacious as well as very, very nice. There's been respectful other tenants in the motel that ask, "Hows it going?" or "How are you?" and they are all super quiet! They have a beautiful patio area in back by the back door and you get EXCELLENT wifi service while relaxing or even a quick smoke break sitting back there in their VERY comfortable chairs they have out there, and it's so peaceful to sit anytime. The staff has been the most respectful and AWESOME staff I have ever seen (in my professional opinion working in the hotel industry or as personal vacation trips) ANYWHERE I have stayed. The cheaper store in town, (in my opinion is the "Fareway"), and is literally next door but if you prefer Hyvee Stores, it's just a short 5 minute walk away. There's a gas station across the highway from this Lodge plus we recently found the park off 12th Street, is about a 10 to 15 min walk from here. Do yourself a favor and make ANY, and I mean ANY, reason or excuse to stay at the Cyclone Lodge and you'll agree!! They even have HUGE whirlpool rooms!!! Personal shout out to the amazing lady running this hotel, her name is Kim, as she is the absolute best!!!!!! P.S. the rates are SUPER affordable!!!!!! BEST PLACE EVER!

I can't recommend this hotel enough, the owners have treated me amazingly over the past few weeks. My company had me stay here for an extended period doing a project and I was living in the hotel during this time. The owners are great people, funny and very kind. The rooms are very nice, clean, and spacious, better than many hotels in the area. WiFi is very fast and stable. Many stores are nearby, putting this in the heart of Harlan if there was one. The only downside I found was no continental breakfast, but the room price fairly reflects this. All in all a great lodge, I highly recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Unlike other chain hotels in Harlan,...these people clean our room EVERY day. They are pleasant and they don't tell us lies. We love the Cyclone Lodge. It is clean and the service is the best.

Wow! What a Total Surprise! Right off the Bat, there are Motels especially your bigger Chain ones, that cost alot. You wont find one as Clean as this. Totally New!! Smells clean, looks like a completely newly renovated place! It's actually is.
Owners definately did a great job renovating this place. Whatever Motel there was is definately gone. Flat Screen TV with fully adequate TV Menu Channel Line up. There is even a new Power Strip Outlet mounted to the Wall. Very Convenient Refridgerator and Microwave. All New Beds and complete New Furnishings.
It is Definately American Owned and Operated which is a big plus. The Manager is TOP Notch good people and a good Gal. Liked her immediately. Very Good Customer Service!
My Over all opinion of this place is Very Good. I would most definately stay here again if passing through the area. This place deserves business. It is right next to a Grocery Store/Supermarket Hyvee. Also right close to Downtown and all the Amenities that one would need .
I highly recommend and urge all Travelers on US 59 to make this Your designated stop when coming through Harlan Iowa. In fact, if your here in Harlan don't stay at any other motel. Stay Here! Good Owners Great Manager!
Lastly, We as Americans need to be aware of and understand the Vast Importance of Supporting Our Local Mom and Pop Small Motels and Businesses as they are becoming fewer and fewer. Thumbs up to Stephanie and the Cyclone Lodge in Harlan Iowa👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

This place right here definitly in my top 2 motels that ive stayed at. Clean good size rooms. Friendly respectaful staff. Quite has hell. Secured building outside doors stay locked. And i like the fact that your keys are real keys And everything you need is less then haf a mile. Store is next store

VERY nice owners, clean, comfortable room, it looks freshly remodeled. Lots of hot water, great shower. The bed was super comfortable. Very good value!

Best hotel I have ever stayed at under a 100$ a night.... drive the extra 10mins from hwy,.. you'll be happy you did... cheaper then motel6, bigger, cleaner, super friendly staff. Microwave,tv,minifridge,bathtub,comfy beds,
