I recently had some gold to sell and the process was effortless and superb. I collected several bids for the same pieces but received by far the best offer at Oakton. Furthermore when I had questions about some gold I'd recently collected they could not have been more helpful. My experiences with them have earned them a long-term customer. In a setting where it would be so easy to be taken advantage of, and let me acknowledge that buying and selling valuable assets can be a nerve-wracking experience - this is most likely the finest business of its kind in the Chicagoland area. Joe and his associates are, in short, WONDERFUL. Highly recommend if you need to sell old jewelry, or are not sure whether something is valuable. They took the time to carefully go through at least 100 items and determine the type of metal and value for varying grades of of gold and silver. Friendly, efficient, and honest. Recommend highly.

I had some old currency that I needed evaluated. Joe was so nice and explaining the currency to me. I really appreciated him and I definitely will go back for any other evaluation’s.

Visiting Oakton Coins & Collectibles was not only enjoyable but also a history lesson. God bless my dad; he left a collection of old silver dollars and half dollars, etc. I didn’t expect anything to be worth much but the owner (Joses) took his time with my collection. Who knew the coins that had silver in them had different edges?! I sure didn’t. He even had special equipment to test the one diamond I brought and the one old bronze Roman coin too. The day I was there; the owner and his associate were both working. The associate was handling what appeared to be an estate collection. Though I know they have handled some priceless collections at Oakton Coins, and what I brought was minor, I was made to feel welcome. You never know what someone is carrying, after all! I will be bringing in my grandmother’s orthodox cross for an assessment next time.

I had a very positive experience at Oakton Coins & Collectibles. I came in for the first time to sell some old coins and jewelry that I had lying around and was very impressed. The two gentlemen working in the store were a pleasure to deal with and very straightforward. The process was quick and prices were fair. More importantly, given that the business has been around for a decade and is quite reputable, I felt confident that I would not be taken advantage of. Would DEFINITELY recommend them for selling rare coins or precious metals.

Great experience at Oakton Coins & Collectibles! Brought in currency to see if it was anything they would be interested in. Was treated exceptionally in a comfortable, no-pressure environment. They took the time to look over everything that I brought and were chatting as they looked over and sorted everything. Very open and explained what they were looking for in what I had and very willing to answer any and all questions. In the end they presented a breakdown of all of the items and values and asked if I was OK with the offer. I will definitely be returning to them should the need arise in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy, sell or receive an appraisal of their currency!
