If we could give 6 stars we would. ⭐
Location was absolutely amazing. It's private, quiet, peaceful. Located RIGHT NEXT to the lighthouse park.
Cabins itself have everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen w utensils pots etc. All you need to bring is your own food. Coffee pot included w cabin. Bathrooms, shower had hot water and it was nice having it in the cabin itself.
Hearing Lake Hurons waves crashing against our shore everyday all day was a dream. Fire pit was great( they do supply wood for a price however we would probably buy it next time...the wood wasn't stocked all the time)
There's a lot of things to do around the area, all within 15 mins.
There's a flat screen w WiFi and YouTube TV for those rain days or watching a movie at night.
It had it all!! Absolutely one of our favorite places in Michigan!!!

Built in the late 40s, these rustic but charming modernized cabins have all the necessary amenities that you would need for an extended stay. Two for whelming feature of these cabins was how dark it was at night there was no light spilling into your room during your sleep. As well the lack of noise was very enjoying, no dogs barking and no cars racing off in the distance. This made sleeping soundly very easy. We try and visit at least one of the two great restaurants in Port Austin, The Bank and The Farm two of the great formal restaurants of Port Austin.

This was our first stay and we were in cabin 4. The cabins were vintage but updated with new features. They had everything necessary for our week stay. They are right on Lake Huron! The views were amazing! Also, witin walking distance to Lighthouse Park and driving distance to Port Austin, Port Hope, Caseville, Bad Axe, and Harbor Beach. Remember to go to the Grinstone General Store for ice cream (less than 15 minute drive). There are plenty of outdoor games provided. Candace and Ryan (owners) were super nice and checked in on us during our stay. Would highly recommend and would stay again!

Spent a couple of days in cabin #2. Perfect couples get away, to just relax and unwind. Candace greeted us upon our arrival, answered any questions we had, and made us feel welcomed. Cabin was clean, and very well stocked. The evenings were perfect, a bon fire overlooking the water, and the sound of the waves was amazing. Highly recommend, and can't wait to go back!

Quiet and peaceful. Cabins are cozy and meet every need. Hosts Brian and Laura are helpful with coming, during the stay and going. Great place and I can only hope I have the opportunity to come back.

Fantastic little cottage right on the lake! The cottage is outfitted with everything you could need, it makes relaxing so easy. Gigantic grill right outside, picnic table & patio chairs, large fire ring. The only thing we had to bring was food and bathing suits

This was our first time at Lightkeepers. We stayed in Cabin 6 and it was really nice. A mix of vintage with a little bit of modern. Such a great view of Lake Huron! We loved the big porch area to sit in and look out at the lake and sky. The cabin was clean and nice. Especially the bathroom and kitchen. The bed in the big bedroom wasn't too comfortable and saggy in the middle. The couch in the living room wasn't too comfy. And overall the place could use more lighting. Regardless, we had a very nice stay. Thank you!

We've been searching the last 5 years for a new place to stay for holiday weekend and this place is it! Clean, great fishing, and the owner was kind and flexible with our huge family. Would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway!

Ryan and Candace are so welcoming. The rustic little cottage, comfortable bed, fantastic view of sunrise, sunset and sparkling Great Lake were just what we needed! Daily eagle sightings and perfect weather made it perfect. So relaxing.

I spent the week of Labor Day at Lightkeepers Cottages and had a wonderful time. Ryan and Candace were welcoming and gracious hosts (they're the owners). The cabins are comfortable and fully-equipped. The lake shore is just steps away - a perfect place to catch a sunrise. Each cabin has a gas grill and fire pit.

Lightkeepers Cottages is close to several nearby towns - Grind Stone City, Harbor Beach and Port Austin - where you can find good restaurants, ice cream and a few shops.

For a relaxing vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, I highly recommend Lightkeepers Cottages.

One of the only reasons you’d be in Port Hope is for Lightkeepers. These quaint cabins have stunning views of the lake and offer many modern amenities. I would highly recommend staying here for a work retreat for you WFHers or a getaway from the hustle bustle.

My family had a vacation home in the area for 40 years. We sold it a couple of years ago and we have been talking about renting one of these cabins for months. I am so glad we finally did. The cabins exceeded our expectations! We stayed in #7 the weekend after Labor Day. We could sit on the couch or kitchen table and enjoy amazing views of Lake Huron which was nice if it was chilly and/or windy. When the weather is nice there are plenty of comfortable seats outside. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We already talking about making reservations for next year. The owner was fantastic and has done a great job with renovating these cabins.

This was our second year staying at Lightkeepers and it was as wonderful as I remembered. We brought a couple of friends with us this year. Ryan and Candace are great hosts. Ryan offered to go to town for us twice, we took him up on the offer the second time. The views are amazing. We will be back next year!

If you are looking for a charming, rustic, relaxing and waterfront getaway this is the cabin resort you need in your life! The owners truly show how much they care about maintaining the historic beauty of the cabins all while adding many modern touches to appeal to their clients of today! Outstanding is an understated word to describe Lightkeepers Cottages in Port Hope! Thank you, Candance and Ryan, for being such caring and concerned hosts.
P.S. Candance's recommendation for Shelly's Bar and Grill for pizza was spot on!

Our family had an exceptional time staying at Lightkeepers. The cabin we rented was exactly how we imagined it. The view from the dining room of our cabin was priceless. Bryan and Laura were very attentive and polite to say the least. If you are looking for a place out of the way (but still close enough) to civilization, than look no further. You will not be disappointed. We will be back for sure.

Gorgeous Views & Relaxing Sounds of Waves crashing over the Shores,,, Our Happy Place. Awesome Sleep, very comfortable, roomy, & spacious with all the amenities of home.
We came as family of 5, plenty of room for all. Had fun times visiting the Lighthouse & Farmer's Market, taking the kids for Putt-Putt & Go-Karts in Port Austin, kayaking to Turnip Rock, heading to Shelly's in Grindstone for tasty Pizza & Subs, and heading over to Rybaks for delicious Ice Cream, then returning to have a quiet fire at cabin for smores & campfire stories on the shore of Lake Huron. We were also able to check out the Dark Sky Perserve at Crescent State Park to stargaze as we do not have this sky in the city.
Was an awesome week for our family vacation with plenty to do &delicious farm to table food. Would definately recommend & revisit, our happy place.

My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful week in one of these cabins.

The area is gorgeous, with numerous activities available (kayaking to turnip-rock was a highlight!)

The owners were very friendly, easy-going people. Their personal touch certainly made our visit one to remember. Cabin was clean, well-maintained and fully-equipped.

I highly recommend this rental unit to anyone who wants to enjoy the charm of Michigan's "thumb" region
