Not sure why people went through a bad experience from Ortegas. I order from them just under two weeks ago and have received my package today. Just as great tasting as I remember it when I lived in New Mexico. I contacted them on the number posted in their website to make sure everything was okay with the order being on time, and they answered and reassured me that it would be shipped immediately. Awesome experience with Ortegas Jerky. I'll definitely be ordering again, and again. Thank you Ortegas Jerky.

Ortega’s Jerky is absolutely the best. We’ve sent it to our children in Texas for Christmas and they love it. It’s becoming a Christmas tradition. The only problem is that 8 boy and 2 girl grandchildren the parents hardly get a taste.

I order a couple times a year and this time I ordered for my boyfriend and asked them to put a "coupon" to annoy him and they wrote the "coupon". I love these guys. On top of the jerky Is my favorite of all time.

Great authentic jerky at a good price. I think some of these negative reviews may be from people who don't know what they are buying. This is traditional-style jerky made from just beef, salt, and other natural ingredients, not the highly-processed, artificially textured, national brand stuff they may be familiar with. Great for hiking, camping, that sort of thing. And you get a lot for the price. Several yummy flavors to choose from.

ORTEGA’S is the best ! When I lived in Colorado I would drive through New Mexico and secure at least 10 bags ! Now I live in Oklahoma and THEY SHIP AND ITS QUICK ! I got 3 bags sent straight to my door and I can’t wait to get more for gifts and trips. This is NOT GAS STATION, over processed, over priced, and god knows what’s in it jerky. This is Taos style ! Long live ORTEGA’S !

When I said i wanted some jerky for a long trip, this is the ONLY place my hostess mentioned. Went to the Taos location , and ordered the lemon pepper flavor. THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF! A big bag, flavorful, and can't beat the price. Anybody know if you can order this online?

All of the people complaining about this jerky are not from New Mexico! We make traditional NM style carne seca in NM, which literally translates to dried meat. I love this carne seca and will always give them buisness. If you tourists or transplants want some gas station jack links or slim jims then by all means, go there. You will always have my family's business! Thanks Ortegas!

The location moved a little bit down the street. We were at first disappointed when we arrived at the old location and it was closed. The new location is much better and has a nicer parking lot. We just about missed it, so we parked on the nearby street and walked towards it. The difference is that now they were also open on Sunday. We love this beef jerky and try to get it every time we are in New Mexico. I have heard via their Facebook page, that they will mail this out to you, but I don't know what that entails. Currently, the prices are $10 a gallon zip lock bag. We have tried a lot of beef jerky, but so far this is the best.

obviously the jerky- traditional NM style, not all juiced up with sugar and chemicals, excellant. but this is also the place to get the best red chile powder!

Best "new mexican" style jerky I have had. Crispy and beefy, flavors are simple but good. Love it. Garlic is delicious if you like it garlicky...
