Lovely little park. The playground is well maintained and has a nice nature trail too. We stopped during a road trip to let the kid get some exercise

Great park for the kids and adults. Well maintained playground and big open field for running. Picnic tables are clean and in good shape. Short hike through the marsh lands; kids were freaked out by the unidentified snake. It’s unfortunate the tennis courts are not maintained at all; Cracked with weeds and no nets. The basketball hoops are part of the tennis courts which is unusual. Bathrooms weren’t horrible but need to be stocked with toilet paper and a pump or sink to clean hands. Still think it deserves five stars for being a really nice park.

What a nice park. Its leafy paths make you feel out of Taos (the desert haha). We were able to walk under the morning sun because there are some trees that give you shade. Lot of birds and butterflies.

I come here fairly often, every few weeks, and my wife brings the dogs a couple of times a week. In warm weather there are usually lots of walkers (not TWD kind), kids and dogs until mid morning. That level of activity resumes mid afternoon so if you’re looking for solitude midday/early afternoon is good.

Town of Taos parks are very dog friendly with several dispensers for biodegradable poop bags in each. Fred Baca park adjoins wetlands and has a walkway elevated just enough for dry walking.

Wildlife lives in the wetlands and migratory birds visit as well. The park adjoins and accesses Rio Fernando Park so I usually walk through both. Some of the photos l am sharing are from the RFP.

A beautiful extended trail and a newly added trail.

We enjoy taking our kids here. They burn off some energy playing and running around. It's so pretty and green. Most of the time it's very clean. Only down fall is they chase you out by 7:45. It's nice to go later in the summer when it's not so hot.

My dog and I have been walking here for years, and with the addition of public access to the adjoining Taos Land Trust tract, it is a dynamite wetland park for birding and wildlife watching right in town. Views of mountains juxtaposed with the basin's expanse of marshland create the illusion that you are far deeper into nature than you actually are. So you could say that is an ideal municipal park. Open grass field and playground make it nice for families. Just be aware that teenagers like to congregate at the observation deck to smoke pot in the evening.

Great park near downtown Taos for walking, bird-watching, or just being lazy in the shade! It has great playground equipment & swings if you have kids. I see lots of folks with dogs here also.

Fwiw, it is ~0.7 miles from the parking lot all the way around the outside perimeter of the park (the big open lot across the bridge I mean, NOT the playground side). Lots of trees, lovely place to have a picnic or walk your pooch!

Beautiful with Mature Cottonwoods, Elm, and a mile long boardwalk along the marsh. Saw a little duck family and listened to Beaver chitter chatter. Gorgeous and a bit sad cuz we took our children here when they were little.

Great little park with an asphalt path and a mulch path in the back that are perfect for walking or jogging. Path in the back is about half a mile and the asphalt path is a quarter mile. There is a play ground and a sport court which is not maintained.

Fred Baca Park holds a special place in my heart. I got to walk one of the most amazing dogs ever In that park. They have a beautiful pollinator display that's also educational for that added bonus. And beautiful places to walk.

Gorgeous ample space. Landscaped with native trees and plants. Great place for a run, bike ride, picnic, and place for kids to play. It has covered picnic tables and options for kids to play on from a wooden arched ladder to climb on to a modern play structure with swings. A plus, it has very clean bathrooms.

When road tripping through the Taos area we needed a place to late the pooch stretch her legs. After Googling around we came across this park and after stopping by, it was a great decision in the end. Even on a Saturday evening there were not a ton of folks around and there was plenty of space to throw the ball for the dog. The vaulted toilets could use a little help as all the windows were busted out and covered in plywood on the mens side, making it difficult to make a pit stop, but other than this, I would come back for sure. There is also access to a great boardwalk walking area that goes around some wet lands that are right next to the green space. If your in the area and need some connection with some green space, swing by here for sure! Next time i'm in the area i'll stop here again for sure.

Nice park to walk my dogs. There are 3 paths to choose from. All different, paved in an open area. Dirt, with hay layed down in a more secluded area with very little foot traffic. And bridges through marsh like area. ( when wet, it does get muddy in the big open area).
