Really impressed with the cuisine here. Everything was fresh and flavorful and generous portions with a healthy spice. It’s lined with art for sale with a number of impressive local pieces. It is pretty pricy; we average $35 per head, and that’s without drinking much and half of the party being kids. Worth it for a “nice” meal, but a little high if you’re looking for something casual.

We had the dumpling trio. It was total of 7 dumplings with 3 different textures and flavor profiles and all extremely delicious. My favorite of the 3 was the red bean mochi , which was sweet and sticky. The lamb and fig bun was a close second with its light and fluffy texture. We also tried the pad Thai, gyoza dumplings, beef bulgogi dumplings and mak kimchi. The kimchi was fresh made, not your usual multi-day fermented kind, which made it less potent and more milder in flavor, but still very tasty. I had it as a side to the bulgogi dumplings, which was a great pairing due to the fact that the dumplings, which resembled more of a samosa in style and texture were very beefy and rich with nothing else to brighten the flavor other than few slices of avocado and scallion garnish.
To see their drink menu you have to go online and navigate to that category under menu. Here you will discover a large selection of very enticing drinks to surely please anyone.
The atmosphere and decor were very relaxing.
We visited on a Saturday night and there was live music , a guitar soloist, playing relaxing tunes to the patrons. The staff was very friendly. However, it did take about an hour for our 4 dishes to arrive. So be aware that your start to finish time here can range from hour and a half to two hours easily. So keep that in mind when planning your visit here. Over all this whole experience still made the highlight of our 4 day stay in Taos.

We've been wanting to go for over a year now but with pandemic' alot of options to eat were limited. We did go and I've been back right the next nite! We enjoyed the spring rolls' plentiful size! And our main entree were the Pork Bahn Mi on a gluten free bread which was a great option! I extremely enjoyed the Red Curry chicken! Going back again was all I could think of and I did and will drop in again when back in Taos! Marshall's thumbs up to Donabe! So grateful to your vision and seeing it pan" out for you! This may not be New Mexican cuisine' but you will not be disappointed!

This is a small quiet Asian fusion place with unique signature dishes. My wife got Gluten Free Bahn Mi since it's very rare to find gluten free! She said she really liked it! It came with thai chili fries which were delicious as well.

I got the Taos Ramen. It was very nice of them to make me a single serving since it's usually meant for two. I will say, the broth was pretty bland, I would recommend asking for beef broth as a replacement if possible. The other ingredients were good, especially the Bison.

The wait staff was very nice and the manager came out to converse with us as well. The place also doubles as an art gallery with the owners private collection, which really liked after the meal to just walk around and look.

Also their sake cocktails are pretty good. I got the sake mule. It's not super sweet which I liked.

Delightful find, excellent food, very friendly service, reasonable prices. While vacationing in NM from Long Island, we stopped in Taos, NM. We were attracted to Debabe, as the name is a Japanese one pot meal. We were delighted to find they offer a lunch "choose your bowl" : one noodle type, one broth, one protien, one topper. I chose udon noodle beef pho, pork, spicy carrots topper. What a great combination, what perfectly cooked pork, udon and carrots! My husband went with udon, chicken broth grilled chicken, dumpling. Again, great combo, very well prepared food! Thank you Denabe! We even got to meet the chef, and say thank you and heap praise!

Stopped in on a whim not expecting too much for an Asian restaurant in Taos, a fusion one no less. I grew up in Malaysia so I am extremely critical.....to say the least
Ordered the pea flower ginger lemongrass tea beautiful and delicious. Our delightful server Ala brought out some lemons that made the tea turn purple. So fun
Shared the gunpowder green curry with rice noodles and lamb. The broth was a nice balance with roasted vegetables and cashews. Not typical of most American Thai restaurants which over sweeten their curries and add too much coconut milk. The lamb was tender and very well seasoned.
For dessert we ordered the black sesame carrot cake and homemade cardomom ice cream both with unique flavors
Had a chance to chat with Marshal and the innovation he is bringing to Taos and the Asian food he is offering.
Can’t wait to come back to try the ramen and other dishes

Donabe is a great place to eat and relax. The food was good, the bahn mi pork sandwich missed the mark for me as regards to authentic. But the Thai sweet chili chicken wings were a home run! I wish I had ordered more! The kimichi cucumber was a nice side dish. My friend ordered the green curry and enjoyed it but said that it could’ve been better. Overall I love that Taos, NM has a asian kitchen and I will definitely return for those Thai sweet chili chicken wings!

I'll get one thing out of the way, there was a hiccup with our party's reservation but it was taken care of. We sat outside which was so lovely in the late afternoon. The food was delicious, I had gotten the Currey which I can't get anywhere else, I would recommend it if you don't mind the spice. The rest of the group seemed to enjoy their food and I know we all left there full, happy and taken care of by the amazing waiter who was entertaining and funny.

Our favorite place to eat during our stay in Taos. Clean food and great service. Unique for a south west town and a great deviation from burgers and Mexican foods.

Great dinner at Donabe last night! Enjoyed the spring rolls, vegetarian and shrimp, with sauce. Fresh, flavorful, yummy. Pad Thai with jumbo shrimp was delicious! Gorgeous space with lots of art, cool live music. Cozy on a chilly night! Reservations recommended. Definitely going back soon.

Our server who's name escapes me but starts with an M was amazing! She was very attentive and helpful! She made for an outstanding experience the few times we visited! Excellent professional conversation and courtesy! Great Asian cuisine and flavor! Very unique taste that rivals any other Japanese kitchen experience! Select produce and ingredients make for excellent variety of choices and ingredients in each dish. There's always something new or different on the menu! Excellent and friendly staff overall! Great family, date or solo restaurant and bar experience!

Finally got to try Donabe tonight and I am so glad we did. The food was excellent, very fresh and cooked well. I loved the fusion of different cuisines throughout their menu. The flavors were unique and bright. We got the Ruben bahn mi and the rellenos, both were unbelievably tasty. That bison pastrami is amazing! The rellenos, despite being fried and full of cheese, were not the least bit greasy and the sauce and beautifully cooked lamb on top was divine. Our server was awesome, super friendly and personable. He checked on us often and kept us up to date on the progress of our meal. I loved sitting in the back courtyard, it was so lovely. Overall the experience felt luxurious for a very reasonable price. We've had some great meals in Taos but that was one of the best. We'll definitely be back often, I can't wait to try more of the menu. Thank you for a wonderful date night!

We had an excellent meal here! The gunpowder green curry was packed with flavor - fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

Do yourself a favor and go to Donabe. The food is excellent (and this is coming from someone who lived in “foodie” land San Francisco for years), the service was on-point, and the art/ambience of the restaurant is exquisite.

Cannot speak more highly of this establishment and its owner. We had a large group of 9 in town for a bachelor party and the experience was great. I am not well educated when it comes to Saki but the servers were very polite in guiding us through the different kinds. The food was beautifully prepared and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. And to top it off, the owner gave us all free shots of tequila at the end for our special occasion. If you are ever in Taos you must stop by here. 5 stars.

I have eaten there many times and always leave happy. With that said I stick to my tried and true favorites, spring rolls, veggie bah mi, peanut noodles and their quick pickle kimchi (Yum!!!) My husband either gets the wagu burger or the pork bah mi. . The service is always great, the art is museum quality and the back patio is delightful.
I am a big fan of pho in general but found theirs to have a different favor profile than I am used to.

This place blew me away! I haven't had Pad Thai this good since Thailand. We started with the fries and Kimchi. The fries were mildly spicy and sweet, great flavor. The Kimchi was made with high quality veggies and was attractive. We ordered entrees of the Pad Thai and Gun Powder Green Tea Curry. Both dishes were packed with veggies, and each had very good flavor. The Pad Thai was subtly sweet and fresh, and the green tea curry was earthy and rich. It was enough food for two meals, or to share. We capped our meal with mango sweet sticky rice, which had coconut and good presentation. I complimented the flavor and combination of veggies to our server, who told me the chef grows them locally in a greenhouse.

We’re local and we really like the food here. Papaya salad is delicious and my daughter loves the veggie pad Thai. The menu keeps evolving with excellent new additions, and the specials are always a treat. Nice varied Asian flavor for all to enjoy! Efficient and friendly service.
