We had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect! We were taken back right at our reservation time. We had the cheese board for an appetizer…highly recommend!
Our entrees were so tasty and beautifully prepared. We can’t wait to go back!

I haven't been to Chateau Morissette for over 20 years. We ended up here because Mickey g's was closed for anything other than take out. While it took them a while to seat us as we had requested an appointment half an hour after we arrived when we did get seated the atmosphere was cozy even given the food was quite nice. Pictured are the Duck Confit with fingerling potatoes and al dente green beans which I and my wife had, and the shrimp and grits, which mom had. Surprisingly, this cost the same as a 3 person meal at Red Lobster though ymmv. Expensive, but what isn't? My mom had a glass of house chardonnay, me tap water and my wife coke. We added dessert, not pictured, of chocolate cake, cheesecake and pound cake. All for about $135. The chef knows what he/ she is doing on the mains but was about average on the deserts.

We came to the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the stuffed chicken with au gratin potatoes and green beans. We sat outside and the view was beautiful and so relaxing. I love that it's dog friendly and seeing the black lab that greeted us at the table. The young lady that waited on us was very kind and friendly. Don't remember her name but she said she is expecting a baby in February. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. One question, is the hut that offers snacks by the winery open? When we can't get a reservation for a meal, we could still drop by for the wine if the hut is open. Thanks

We absolutely LOVED this place. Everyone was so kind and the food was phenomenal. The winery nearby also has an excellent selection of wine that you can buy a glass or bottle from.

This review is for the restaurants lunch menu. When Morrisette built their new winery building next door, this opened up the entire original mountain top location they shared to a full service eatery. Probably a good thing as well. The place was packed on the Saturday we visited. It was a beautiful day for a mountain drive to be fair though, so this may not be the norm.
The mac and cheese appetizer was Wonderful and the best my wife has ever tried.
I had the blackened catfish with fries, while the wife had the skillet fried chicken sandwich with salad.
Catfish was perfectly cooked and the remoulade was tangy but didn't overpower. The pickled celery should be sold at their store to take home. The potato skins were toothpick thin and crisp and a nice touch, but the wife thought they might be confused as bones because of their size and texture. I chose to trust their fish monger and didn't offer her another sample.
Her chicken sandwich was crispy and had a nice sweet honey flavored sauce that flavored the bread nicely but we both thought the chicken though tasty, was a bit rubbery.
Her salad was crisp and the dressing was very nice.
Can't wait to return and try more of their menu, which I understand changes regularly.
Go and enjoy. Oh and they have some pretty incredible wines as well.

Wow, this place is a gem. Recommended by our B&B for an anniversary dinner and we are so grateful. It is a family owned establishment and the staff are very knowledgeable but not at all pretentious. Had a wonderful experience at the winery (wish we could have taken Ryan home as our personal sommelier) followed by a delicious and incredibly reasonably priced dinner. Wish we could have seen the grounds in the daytime but what we did see of the property was lovely. The winery is dog friendly and laid back. Highly recommend.

Go see Sadie. She is wonderful! The food is delicious. The staff we met were all happy and provided great service, but Sadie is a rare gem.

Chateau Morrisette is all around a great restaurant. Starting with the excellent staff, to the majestic views, the wonderful cuisine, and of course, the fantastic wine, everything was a delight. The cheeseboard included a locally produced cheese that had a delightful taste and texture somewhere between brie and aged cheddar. The housemade preserve and pickled grape accoutrements were very nice. For the entrees, the Heritage Pork Chop served with grilled red cabbage, smashed peas, and pureed carrot was delicous. The Duck Leg Confit a'la Orange was also excellent. For desert, the panna cotta with preserved cherries was delightful. The orange cream sorbet was also very tasty. The staff was very friendly, prompt and professional from start to finish. In summary, our experience was everything that we would expect from a solid 5-star restaurant.

My wife and I and two good friends from NC had lunch. One steak entree, one chicken, one trout and the fourth a pork chop entree. The food was superb and we enjoyed a bottle of Chateau Morrisette Chardonnay and a bottle of Dry Dog a perfect compliment to our entrees and the fried green tomatoes appetizer.

We all cannot wait to return.

Good place around blue ridge parkway and relax and peaceful. The food is perfect but reserve the seat before arrival will be good idea.

We have been going here for years and we travel about 2 hours just for lunch at this place and it is awesome! (South end of High Point, NC) Beautiful views, clean air, just very peaceful. We had lunch outside, my husband had the burger and I had shrimp and grits! And for dessert, we shared the Rocky Road with Mocha Ice Cream (I believe that was what it was called)). My only negative would be that I wish they offered a Moscato. Just go there, you won't be disappointed!!

Today was my first visit to Chateau Morrisette, my spouse has been to the Winery and Restaurant several times, but it actually has been 10 years since he had dined at the restaurant.
We were so thrilled when we learned the restaurant was open again.
The view from the patio is spectacular!!!
The food was/is absolutely delicious!!!
Our Server Sadie was phenomenal, informative, friendly, polite and welcoming!!!
We will definitely be returning on our next vacation to Virginia.

Chateau Morrisette is a great winery on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but its restaurant is its hidden gem. The restaurant is comparable to great dinning in Washington, DC or New York City, but its prices are more inline with those in Southwest Virginia. The best time to visit the restaurant is for lunch in the summer as you can sit outside on their deck, enjoy the cool mountain breeze and view, and have a great meal.
