I reserved a table to enjoy high tea a few days before Christmas. Plenty of free parking and easy access to the entrance. Festive decorations adorned the historic house and beautiful instrumental seasonal music played softly. At the table, I was provided a list of teas to choose from and a menu of what would be served for the high tea. Staff was cheerful, pleasant and knowledgeable of the flavors offered. Everything from the scones to the sandwiches to the desserts were handmade with the freshest ingredients. I was impressed with the flavor of the plum-apricot jam. The white chocolate, citrus and pistachio bark was my favorite of the dessert offerings. As I had chosen to dine alone, I enjoyed the warm holiday ambiance, the low chatter from neighboring table guests and soft music as I read selections of Christmas poetry on my phone. It was a delightful way to mark my 55th birthday.

We celebrated my Daughter’s 3rd birthday here. Mommy & Daughter date. The owner went above and beyond for our experience. The desserts were amazing. She makes them homemade. Thank you for treating us with outstanding hospitality. This was a memory we will forever cherish. We will be back for more Mommy & Daughter dates.

My mom and I attended High Tea at the Johnson House yesterday and I only have wonderful things to say. They just opened at the beginning of the year and we will 100% be repeat customers.
The tea room and bakery is located in a beautifully preserved house built in the 1890s and the owner of the business, Ms. Laura, was so lovely to tell us the history of the home (we came from out of town.) All the staff was wonderful; very kind and helpful to answer any questions we asked. Ms. Laura was more than willing to share her knowledge of the traditions and history of tea. The tea was wonderful and the food delicious; the highlight of which for me personally was definitely the homemade pineapple cheesecake. Don't forget to check out the quaint little giftshop before you leave!

My wife and I hit a deer with our car and we made it to The Johnson House. We were received like family. Our hosts were so cordial. Our vehicle misfortune turned into a magical moment for the two of us as we sipped coffee, tea and walked through the garden. This place saved the day for us.

Lovely experience at the Johnson Tea House & Bakery! Staff friendly & accommodating, high tea included choice of tea or coffee, chicken salad rolls, havarti dill danish, scones with butter and jam, fresh fruit & dessert sampler! Small tables downstairs w/additional seating upstairs for larger groups & meetings. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome and also educate us.

Worked remotely in a quaint study here while traveling to Asheville. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The aesthetic reminded me of English tea rooms I've been to. Highly recommend!
