Akins BBQ, Convenience & Feed Store

A really friendly place, great customer service, and especially great bbq. My husband's brother came from Wyoming to visit. He brought along his wife and daughter, and we brought our kids. The brisket and pulled pork were delicious and the ribs tasted of hickory smoked perfection as the meat fell off the bone. The jalapeño Cole slaw was tasty but admittedly too hot for some of us, and we all found ourselves talking and laughing over sodas and beer. We all agreed that this unassuming little place in the country has become our favorite bbq place.

I camp down by this place. I dropped by to try the BBQ. It was so good. We got ribs, brisket, bologna, baked beans, pickles, and white bread. It was all so good. White bread is white bread, but I did like the pickles they had. Their BBQ sauce was good as well. I have been coming to Akins Store for years. They used to have a sign that welcomed the family to the area every year of the reunion, so I am familiar with the store and it’s offerings.

If you want a great destination fun day, drive to Akins Store, get you some great BBQ, drive down to Sequoyah’s Cabin Museum, picnic there, enjoy the displays, then wrap it up with a drive back to Akins cemetery and see Pretty Boy Floyd’s grave stone.

Got pulled pork dinner and brisket dinner! Both tasted great and a lot of food for the money.

Excellent bbq with friendly staff and a great atmosphere inside a rural convenience/feed store. Highly recommend!

It's been a really long time since I've had good BBQ. This place was amazing. I loved the coleslaw, I usually don't like coleslaw that much. This place reminded me of home when I was kid. Will recommend.

The brisket dinners with beans and coleslaw are fantastic! My favorite item on the menu is the loaded baked potatoes that are available on Fridays (I get brisket in mine). It's a great meal for a great price!

1st time here, just by chance seen it on a BBQ search in area. Guarantee we will return!!!! From I40 thought we were never going to find it, but, sure glad we did!!!
