Eufaula Wetland Park

This urban storm water wetland in Eufaula Cove is still under construction, but is already doing its job absorbing & slowing recent floodwaters & filtering all sorts of storm water pollution that would normally flow into Lake Eufaula from the surrounding neighborhood. So far they have done the dirt work and had lots of school kids out to help with planting. It will be awhile before bridges, benches and interpretive trails and kiosks are built, but hats off to the community coming together to create an accessible place where we can "get up close'" & learn about some of the aspects of these unique and critical ecosystems. Looking forward to watching this project as it evolves, and I'll be posting updates!

This little urban stormwater wetland near downtown Eufaula was a fun learning experience. There are ramps and platforms that carry you right into the wetland, and several educational signs that explain wetlands and their importance to Urban areas. Plus signs inside the wetland identifying plants. I would recommend it to anybody who lives in or is visiting Lake Eufaula.

It was a great little discgolf course:) was unfinished and sometimes hard to find the tee boxes but I had a great time. Fun shots and a beautiful landscape. Would very recommend

An exciting newly created wetland with interpretive signs explaining the important role wetlands play in cleaning our water. A must visit!
