Excellent service!

My husband and I had some concerns about our cut off switch. When I brought up our concerns to the Kiamichi electric representative she had an electrician out to our meter box with in the hour!
The electrician was kind, informative and motivated to help in any way he could. As a young couple starting out this kind of service means the world to us.

Kiamichi electric employees are always courteous and professional. When there are ever any outages they are quick to get service restored. They are an electric company that has a heart and cares about their customers.

New to area and the patience Crystal had was amazing! Explained everything to me so we now know how the process works, how and the different options as to when to establish our account. Very happy!

Its been over 60 days we’ve waited since we put deposit down for new electric. They said it would take 4-7 weeks. Its been long passed that also we called a few times and did not receive a response. After the long wait we drove an hr to wilburton, chat with Wendy and the next day they arrived.:I guess theyve been busy.

It did take 3wks for them to come out the first time. I do know there busy and Covid 19 was no help. The second time I called to have the meter put in and power hooked up kiamichi electric came out that day❣ Shout out to Wendy thank you! Also to the men and women who come out and do the work in the field. Thank you and GOD Bless❣

Because you have a choice between prepaid or monthly billing

Unfortunately they do nothing to incentivize homeowner installed solar panels. Many other electric utilities do.

I saw a response about the increases being due to the price of natural gas, natural gas is less than half of what it was a year ago so by their own response my bill should be roughly 53% less 🤔 or were they lying about that? Someone's getting the kickbacks somewhere I sure hope they get busted!

I have dealt with multiple power companies over the years, and Kiamichi has been the most difficult one to deal with. I understand it is a Co-op, so things operate differently. I'm not sure what the point for this review is, other than it would be nice to be able to have choice over who provides my power. I am stuck with them though or I would have switched a long time ago.

Edited to add this. My bank had an issue, which caused a bank payment to fail when I paid a bill. I realized it and paid it immediately the next day. Because of a returned payment, I was forced to pay an additional $900 just because of the returned payment. Sure, I'll get it back after 13 months they say. But to pay an extra $900 just because of a returned check? Insanity.

Hello I've only been a resident of wilburton for almost 2 weeks and I paid more for electric then I have my own rent. Is there anyone we can call like the state. From my understanding it's a large problem with beard estates. Ridiculous rates that show they could careless about there community.

I needed my power line located in advance of a new fence being built. I was told by K E C: "we don't come onto a property because we don't know where the lines are buried". Well that's funny...I don't either and that's why I called you. And oh BTW, YOU are the power company not me.

Our electricity has been out sense early this morning the automated message just says they can’t work on it until daylight. It’s been daylight for several hours. How about some new information? I called to talk to a person and asked for an estimated time frame that it will be back and she said she didn’t know. I specified “a few hours or all day and night” she said she didn’t know then transferred the call to a supervisor and I got a voicemail. My last electricity provider had live outage time estimations on their app. I have a baby and it’s getting cold I just wanted to know if we needed to get a warm hotel room or not.

I keep getting the run around. I moved into an area considered blanco ok. TI Valley area. I keep getting told I'll receive a call back to see if they'll at least put an electrical line on my road. There are electrical lines on a county road and one on another. My nearest line is over 4000 ft away. The engineer said the closest point was almost 2000 feet at a cost of 13000 to 20000 dollars. I've asked for help. I'm a disabled veteran. I have someone who will run it from the road to the house. But no luck for basic essential services. Basic human needs. If this is a non profit coop why do they have people pay them for electric bills? I guess because I can't afford it I do not deserve the same rights as others who can.
